Posted March 5, 201312 yr With the awesomeness of a fried motherboard this morning, its time to build a new computer. I have been told Motherboards no longer come with the socket for my current processor. Let the suggestions begin, I'll list what I currently have that could possibly be given a second life in the new setup. MadBox mk.1 - Intel i5-760 CPU - MoBo (fried, not baked) - 4gb G.Skill RAM - 500GB WD Blue HDD - ATi 6850 GPU - Generic 500w Power Supply - Thermaltake V5 Black Edition Full Case - LG DVD Read/Write (busted for ages) - LG 23" HD LCD Monitor - Logitech G110 Keyboard - Logitech G500 Mouse - Gamecon 780 Headset I'm looking for a mid-range gaming machine with an Intel CPU. I appreciate any help with figuring out a good setup. Edited March 5, 201312 yr by stewsta
March 7, 201312 yr I would just bite the bullet and get a new Cpu and Mb, you can find boards but i7 stuff is getting cheap Its about how much you want to spend . If you are running an i5 Mb then your ram should work in the i7, but grab another 4 gig while you are ordering ? ram is cheap... Look at a non "generic/500watt" psu supply while you are there. Add a SSD to your basket and your shopping is done .....for now... Its only money.. Its the same with cars... Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go .. . :drive: http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
March 7, 201312 yr Author I have had a chat with Buzzard about it, looking like scratching everything except for case and gpu, will most likely buy a second and crossfire or buy a newer unti later on.
