I searched and don't think there's been a thread about it but battlefield 1942 is now free! (as of 4 weeks ago....) this was a great old game and if anyone else wants to download and play let me know!

lol That was in my orignal post then I read this in the FAQ on the page

Unfortunately, no. This Origin digital download version can only be played against other players who are using the same version. But since it’s free for everyone, everyone can download their own copy of the game. This version of the game will only show applicable (new) servers in the server browser.

Exactly my thoughts on it. Honestly waiting for the day when I log into PR and it auto kicks me to desktop to install origin.
