Gents,

Have recently up graded from windows xp 32 bit to windows 7 64 bit.

Installing BF2 from CD, it saves under Program files x86.

Downloaded patches 1.41 & 1.5, but CAN NOT run patch 1.41- says its incompatible.

Need instruction on how to get BF2/PR to run in windows 7 64?

Thx.

Yep, running Win7 Home Premium 64 with 2GB of RAM.

Mine was a simple install, but a while ago now.

hmmm... i have a couple suggestions, make sure the patches are run as admin, and if that doesn't work try installing it to a different folder say like C:/Games

There's something about Program Files that makes things stuff up sometimes, also go to your control panel and try turning of UAC (User Account Control)

Well basically we're fighting a native people who was overthrown by our imperialistic government which is situated elsewhere. Our nation's desire is to maintain these various underlying colonies. In particular this form of state has multiple resistance factions which ultimately fights for an independent sovereign nation. Meanwhile we fight to eliminate their unruly resistance to our suppressive discriminatory government. Therefor and thusly, we are all stuck, in a giant, Team Deathmatch.

When installing bf2, select custom install and instead of selecting "Program files x86", select "Programming Files" if folder don't exist make it.

I've just Done A Complete Reinstall And Update, This Is What I Grabbed And it Worked Fine. All Ran As Administrator When Installing To.

BF2 Patch 1.4 FULL (Pretty Sure You Might Not Need This But I Used It No Dramas)

BF2 Patch 1.41

BF2 Patch 1.50

Thanks everyone for the advice, with these and google I got it to work.

Had to make sure I ran as Administrator, by right clicking on the exe.

I didn't make a new folder pathway Jamo, it is working in x86, perhaps I should reinstall without the x86..

Thirdly, I had to change the compatibility by right clicking on each exe and selecting windows xp.

See snap shot of this.

Nah don't bother installing again.

I've been running x86 for a year or two now with no hiccups.
