Wouldn't let me imbed in the first post.

They did some testing on the beta with 64 but released full game with 32 player servers, it's only a matter of time hopefully.

If they can get 64 player servers I'll get this. The levels just seem empty and the battles too small with only 32. The engine should be able to handle it easily enough.

I like the initiative they took to make something fresh, instead of just making another CoD clone or something.

a comparison from totalbiscut between war of the roses and chivalry

I played the old Source mod back in the day, and even then 32 players is a fair amount given the melee system. I mean these larger look awesome, but they seem to boil down to groups ganking lone players or players running in swinging into large groups to get a kill or two before they're mauled themselves. Not a lot of parrying there :(

But I'll grab it anyway and give it a bash, I mean it's only $25 and I've been watching this one for a LONG time :)

Maybe it will force players to work together in formations, covering each other etc...

Or they'll just get ganked again and again in a pub match by mobs of enemies, much like they do in current matches. But I digress, it's still early days and perhaps they will install 64 player servers (or get them modded in). Though they'll need a fair few more larger maps to spread out so many players. There's not nearly enough space for 32 on some of them.

Personally I think they really some form of squad allocation/organisation to encourage the teamplay if they were expanding it.

Got this and war of the roses, enjoy both. Roses has more substance but enjoy chivarly for a good scrap and it's violence:-) 64 players would be great!
saw the trailer, decided to give it a go, just bought it off steam, i'll let you know what i think, seems fun by the videos!

Awesome concept, poor execution. When fighting more than one player, your options are limited to backpedal and block, until death, with no hope of counter attacking with out resulting in death. I'm very disappointed with it.

Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness.

Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness.

Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate.

Well of coarse you'll die if you just backpedal! Charge in, dodge swings, break line of sight and let the friendly fire do the rest. I've seen players take out two or three enemies at a time by making sure there'll all bunched up or lining up behind one another, limiting the amount of targets that can actually attack them.

It looks hard, but you can nail it if you practice.

Or you can just run away! :p
