I really feel that this deserves its own thread.

So, a lot of you probably haven't heard of the mount and blade series, but I'm pretty sure someone mentioned it once or twice..

ANYWAY, a few days ago the Napoleonic Wars DLC was released for Warband and it is by far the best $10 I have ever spent on a game (it probably costs $20 for both Warband and the DLC combined while it's not on sale). Realistic Factions, weapons, statistics, etc make such a damn immersive game. 200 player servers are an epic sight, rockets whistling through the air, Cavalry meeting their end times and cannons shredding hordes of charging line infantry who in turn blast and slice their way through whatever is in front of them.

Anyone a fan of the recent total war series or interested in 19th century warfare REALLY needs to give this a play.

I kinda sound like a salesmen.. But I just want to let more people know about this game, It's so darn epic. >.<

Yer it looks sick, so i bought it, but because steam is a peice of s*** they have no keys for the game... after i bought it...and installed it... so now i have to wait untill they get more keys off of the devs or whoever... yay.

Wow, they did this exact same thing when warband was released. No keys. Anyhow i love the series and will be playing this fire and sword was horrible. I hope this is ok..

Yeah its a much better system than fire and sword. Guns are more balanced as they take much longer to reload, are pretty inaccurate and there is no zoom, so its much harder to snipe people from across the map.

Bought it, any decent servers? Is there an Aussie community for it? If not, we should consider making one.

Been playing on the official US server. Generally the latency isnt too bad, and its more fun playing with 200 players rather than only 20 on the aussie one.

Hey Shady,nice one matey...Roughly 2005-06 I played the first incarnation of this series simply titled Mount and Blade.It was developed by a couple who are from Turkey...They took a similiar path to the Rockstar guys[remember the original GTA was free?]

I kept upgrading Mount and Blade,and finally they charged their first fee for the game[like 20-30 bucks] and it was a pleasure to pay them for their hard work..

It's great to hear they are still going and maybe now,making some money out of it as well,they deserve it.

 

Will definitely get this one too.Power to all those indie games developers giving it a go and competing with EA etc.

I kept upgrading Mount and Blade,and finally they charged their first fee for the game[like 20-30 bucks] and it was a pleasure to pay them for their hard work..

A modding team that worked on the MM russia mod work with Taleworlds on this. I have more hours playing warband then I ever did playing bf+pr. Good game.

That said, So far I haven't been convinced by anyone who's opinion I value to buy this mod. So far I have just heard comparisons to the MM russia mod. But I have noticed alecs 48 slot NW server has been full all day.

Just bought it and its my first time playing anything like this and i have to say that it is epic. Playing the bagpipes in the middle of a musket duel just about brought a tear to my eye.

Taleworlds IS the couple I mentioned in the earlier post.

They had no mods in 2005 for it,they just kept updating mount and blade..

Within a year,mods started to spring upl.Anyways great to hear they are still going.

Do we have a bigD steam group? would be easier to work with that, rather then trying to find people online randomly. A bit of coordination goes a long way in this mod!

I'm seriously thinking about starting up a 100-200p Aussie server, the 48 player one is almost constantly full and the extra players seem to migrate to the US servers.

Does anyone know of some good server providers?
