wow . . . TPG will be rubbing their hands together IF they are planning on buying iiNet . . . kinda sucks tho because if TPG did buy iiNet, node was my first other choice . . .

maybe all is not panic stations yet . . .

Will be interesting to see how this will effect the BigDGaming servers as the provider Network Presents uses Cine.net.au (internode) as one of its main transit providers.
I use internode. I hope this does not adversely effect service.

i'm with iinet , hopefully this would mean more un-metered steam content servers

thats one upside

Wasn't iinet one of the ISPs that agreed to ISP level filtering, and internode one that didn't?

How will this pan out?

iirc only the AFP one, NOT the Stephen Conjob one (one of the most vocal critics of SC's filter along with Simon Hacket & Internode)

Will mean no change for some time. Hackett and his team will still manage and run the company and it will operate as a separate entity much like westnet and a few others that iinet own.

:hi:

... I just hope Westnet et al continue to provide the real customer service I've received so far... they leave Optus dead in the water.

3FL is westnet is iinet

points to remember iinet is not optus , is not telstra , is not tpg

:hi:

iinet started as a punk in Perth,

Over the ten years that I've signed with them intermitedly

they have provided more support than their clauses require

even given the odd bonus/cut fees when there has been a prob on their side

THEY DID sign to the FKilter tho

+1.

THEY DID sign to the FKilter tho

which one? I know they tried to get in on Conjobs filter to see what it actually was going to do (because you know, Conjob wasn't telling anyone) but were knocked back. They support the AFP one because it is based in LAW, not just some arbitrary 'questionable material' list decided by a 3rd party with no oversight...

thats the one i was complaining about

right, then have no fear because like i said, Conjob knocked them back due to iiNet only wanting to be involved to show how utterly stupid it was.
