New mumble released

 

This version is much easier to use. It will automatically put you into the right channels when you join servers in game. No more alt tabbing and messing around like all you guys were complaining about so now you don't have any excuses.

 

There's already a BigD channel waiting for you guys...

inb4 people still don't use mumble because of "spam".

 

This is really awesome though, and something I was waiting for for like 2 years.

Should be alot less spam with this version.

If you disconnect or unlink you are put into the servers root channel (in out case BigD), and if you change team or squad it will automatically move you into the correct channel.

So there shouldn't be any crazy people not ingame or not connected properly talking globally to everyone like there was before.

 

Squad leaders are also able to communicate to each other without a dedicated SL channel, but spam is reduced there by making it possible to communicate with just 1 specific SL by using the numpad numbers. So if you want to talk to SL 7, you press numpad 7.

 

 

 

Its just all so smart and autonomous now... I bet people will start complaining about how they have to go to ALL the effort of opening it, and how it takes so long to double click.

Is there a way you can modify/create an .exe to start two programs... I'm too lazy to start PR and Mumble.

But when I looked at the screenshot there was a BigD channel.

I propose an event be organised (with plenty of notice) by some keen community member, everyone stop playing BF3 and Skyrim and whatever for just a few hours and play in the event, and have BF2 voip disabled so it's 100% mumble, because that's actually viable now as you can do BF2 voip style, and MORE! .

How much % performance increase would you expect without voip running (just curious)

I was on server 2 last night and it worked fine. Must be some sort of wizardry.

Server #2 is listed as the primary server in our server licence, I was hoping they had assigned the mumble channel to it .

But you have to remember it is still beta and there will be bugs to fix up like the lag and stuff.

Running as admin Saltbush? Also, Network lag (AKA High ping)? or hardware lag (low fps)

Geez Ford, I'm not bright enough to be running as admin (do you mean in Mumble?) - I'm not a PR admin. My ping - I didn't check. But the lag when I had mumble running was too bad to continue playing. (Couldn't understand voip-too disrupted, and couldn't drive an apc.) I quit mumble, and the whole problem was resolved.

Lol no not with admin powers silly . If you're using Win7 or Vista, right click the mumble shortcut > compatibility tab > tick run as administrator

Salt whats your system like? I cant run BF3 and TS or I can but system lag makes it pointless, if you have a good machine and the voips breaking up it could be data bottleneck or packet loss? whats your net speed
