Posted October 28, 201113 yr Hello BigD members and PC tech experts! I want to over clock my GFX card which is a 9600 GT and Flowright's GTS 250. I know they are are crappy card and we are going to get a new one for BF3. While the shop is awaiting for stock, I want to push it a little. I have check a number of site that make reference of RivaTuner. Since I am currently on Flowright's PC, I will use his example describing problem: Core | Shader clock | Memory - Stock: 675 mhz | 1458 mhz | 900 mhz - OC (stable no crash): 678 mhz | 1464 mhz | 940 mhz As you can clearly see, the jump is no where significant at all until BF3 start to crash the PC itself... Is odd, cause Furmark survives with no problem, but BF3 tends to be a more realistic test cause that is what I am going to use for anyway... What I want to know is, many sites refer to GFX voltage in the BIOS, does anyone have any hint or screenies to share what I can do with that? Apparently, increasing the voltage (to a safe limit) allows the card to go further. I am sure clocking using RivaTuner is not the only thing to do and I think I am missing something. All hints and tips greatly appreciated! :guitar: [Special Response Team] Teamwork is one - Experience is second - Tactic is third R.Mustang Online - [I] Do you copy? ましょうか? October 28, 201113 yr Whoa, slow right down there a second mate! Now, when you are playing around with the card, the first thing you have to realise, is there is no real need to touch the voltages of your card unless you are doing some bigger kicking, ie. taking it up ~75MHz or more, I'd even say there was no need to play with the voltages of the card at all, even at 100MHz or more, considering cards already have access to such great realms of power. Secondly, read this through: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/overclock-graphics-card,1916-4.html Make sure you understand it all, also, you are usually better focusing on increasing different areas at a time, namely, focous on increasing the Core as high as you want/is stable, then increase your memory. ALWAYS keep an eye on your temps when running Furmark. They don't call it the 'fryer' or nothing. Best of luck :hi: http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/Chanvlan/new_kit.jpg yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't. Its exactly like knowing about the stuff you dont know about, that way you know theres stuff you dont know so when you know what you dont know you can say "ah i knew that!"[/quote']
October 28, 201113 yr mate reference your OC, most people with 560ti off the shelf OC'd cards had to Downtune to play battlefield. (i just updated the GPU BIOS and i am sweet ) but others had downtune, so... i wouldnt go messing with your cards man, in my Experience, Ocing a GPU does F'all anyways... wait on your new cards imo [WC] Tpr.Chrisso06 http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/armouredservice.bmp "My other ride is an ASLAV" http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7264/newtanksig.jpg

Yes, I had a look at that website and just asking here again since I was not satisfied what it told me, wanted to hear an expert point of view. So, following your method, yes Furmark is stable but since I have yet to receive BF3 and Beta is already closed... My only real method of testing is PR, which seems to be fine so far. That does not guarantee will be fine when I get my hardcopy of BF3. :cowboy: ... off the shelf OC'd cards had to Downtune to play battlefield. Thanks for the help, the thread may be closed. Thanks for the help, the thread may be closed. Just remember, as each CPU is to its own, each GPU is to its own. There is no 'set' overclock that can be provided for all cards of the one type, that's why cards (such as the 6950) are given such great titles, as they are branded 'easy & great overclockers' (see also the AMD CPU's). All in all, it depends on YOUR own card. You may in fact only be able of O'clock it a tiny bit, whereas your mates might go 10x higher etc. Best of luck bud. :guitar: http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/Chanvlan/new_kit.jpg yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't.
