I've recently started playing PR, and every time I play the BigD server I get a boot after about 10 minutes from Punkbuster, something to do with init.con.

 

I've really got no idea what to do, or what's wrong. I'm definitely not hacking or anything like that, so I'd really appreciate some help.

Update punkbuster. There is a tool available to do so and this tends to solve most problems so I'd try that first.

Punkbuster is fully updated.

 

Can't get a screenshot because there's nobody on the server, and it appears to only occur when there are other players.

 

The actual thing I get when I kicked is "mods/bf2/init.con len=301" and a generic 'punkbuster has kicked you'

ahh in that case i'm out of solutions. Perhaps a reinstall?

Upon reading some archived thread, if I can get an init.con that punkbuster does like then I'll probably be able to play. All I need is somebody with an init.con that it doesn't think is corrupted to let me download theirs.

Uninstall Punkbuster and reinstall

Thanks Noddy, worked a charm. I've been playing BigD 2 for the last hour and a half without a problem.

Generally, punkbuster problems can be resolved by manually updating PB through that evenbalance link that Noddy gave you.
