The next VLSA ComSims Deployment is on 24th September at 9am, deployment details below:

Time: Saturday 24th September 9am - 5pm

Location: Rowallan Recreation & Adventure Camp, Riddells Creek.

Cost: $50 includes, membership (valid from 01/07/2011 - 30/06/2012) & tagger hire (Membership is a one off payment)

AGE LIMIT IS STRICTLY 18+

If you do not know what VLSA are then have a look at the ComSims deployment threads. VLSA work along side ComSims Brisbane in running the best military simulation Australia can offer.

So if your from Victoria/Melbourne area and sick of seeing these queenslanders have all the fun come along and join the VLSA, by the time Storm comes around you will be more than ready to stick it to the queenslanders, literately too :p

We dont have a big following of Victorian BigD members at VLSA, but those from these forums who come and now Vets/Regulars at our deployments who are in specialist roles from Snipers TL, Medics and Seccos:

ReconAus

Xabu

AntarticTheFox

Aus Sniper01

So would be good to get more of you milsim die hards to come along

If you would like to register please email thevlsainc(at)gmail.com or PM me your email address and I will send additional details about the deployment

FYI we will be running a 24 Hour event on 18th November

The Victorians have proven themselves at LazerStorm many times in the past and anyone with an interest in serious military gaming should get into this!

Any fan of PR who wants to have even more fun but in an outdoor environment will get off on the VLSA sessions. It's IR combat for real men and women, with a focus on section-based military simulation. The weaponary has a much greater range and higher accuracy than paintball, along with free ammunition!

If you have any doubt, ask the following bD members who've been along to multiple VLSA and Brisbane Combat Sims sesssions and some to LazerStorm as well:

* 1rankman

* AllYourBase

* Aus_Sniper

* BigJake

* bkt

* Bundy

* Chanvlan

* Delta_51

* Kushluk

* Poncho

* ReconAus

* Rhodesy

* Seg

* SmOOvDoGG

* Stone

* Swordsman

* Tonnie

* VisOne

All these guys can't be wrong ;-)

I can only speak for the Brisbane (Samford) deployments, but essentially it is a bunch of dudes divided into two teams who enjoy laser skirmish in the bush. You are assigned a role and told what to do by your squad/team leader and spent the better part of a day hunting the other team or attempting to complete attack/defence scenario's using tactics such as changing formations, splitting up into fireteams, bounding in pairs etc. The weapons are fairly realistic (minus the recoil) and fire infrared light that is not visible to the human eye. They have virtual magazines and loud sound effects so you know when to reload or have been shot. If you enjoy basic squad work and have an interest in teamwork and shooting stuff, its pretty much the closest you can get to ArmA in real life ;)

It's like a day of PR with the added sensations of touch, smell and taste.

This sounds like a bit of fun. What's it like?

Fun, exciting, we get people hooked simple as that, hell AntarticTheFox brought his 50 year old dad along and he loves it always comes when they can make. Another member brings his 50 year old war vet dad along and his dad keeps wanting to come back.

Funny enough our average age of members are 33 years old, so its alot more mature but we still cater for the young breed as well (18+)

ReconAus started coming along when we first started he has pretty much never missed a deployment and has made is own ghillie suit as well.

Xabu started coming to a few deployments and now is one of our successful Seccos.

I met two blokes at supernova dressed as Task Force 141, told them about VLSA, they cant get enough one of them has asked our resident armourer/gunsmith to build a L85 for him and will be using it for the first time this deployment

There no doubt once you come along you most likely will get hooked, its the first part of this statement that alot of people have trouble with. Getting off your arse and try it out, to get perspective of what we do go along to a commercial operator and try out thier gear and gameplay you will find VLSA and ComSims Brisbane are much more catered to most of the people on these forums

Typical, now you run one in Melbourne after I moved states. :disgust:

LOL Sorry Wolf been running since 09, we only got more popular late 10, I think you were too busy having Cpl's yelling at you

[EDIT] A few pics from past deployments right back to our early days http://www.vlsa.com.au/vlsap.htm
