Ok.

I've issues on where to go next - i will most likely be doing the BF3 thing. (its all new and shiney and i like shiney ....)

but it seems the community is a little up in arms on where they will be going next, it's slightly worrying to see.

What will happen to BigD BF2:PR ?

that's an unknown - its most likely you will see a slight die off of BF2:PR as people grab their mitts on either ARMA:PR or BF3.

I think even the admins don't know what to do (this is my opinion) "do we host a bf3 server" or "do we host a arma:pr server" or "do we stay dedicated to bf2:pr"

I'd like to get a gauge of what people will most likely be doing in an honest fashion - it might help a few of us out and perhaps give the admins perspective on where BigD will go :)

BF3 when i have time, later on i'll have a go at PR:A2
There comes a time in every musician's life when they must decide what instrument they should master. Few. If any are ever worthy enough to master. The cowbell.

I dont think BigD will need a BF3 server, enough clans..including my own, will be getting servers up for it.

I personally will go to ARMA2 PR and I know that the majority of =]DI[= guys are really keen for it. I like Arma2 ..hate the rubber banding that you get from bots and PR on Arma solves that and will be epic with that PR feel about it on the massive capability and scale of the Arma2 engine

It will be such a shame to split the regular PR players up though, so I hope that the majority move onto Arma2 PR, it was inevitable that PR would get updated and move away from BF2 eventually

I also sincerely hope that BigD retain the force in PR Aust/NZ that it is. Others have their name based off ARMA2, I hope BigD remains the sole place to play PR, with its fantastic regular players that we've come to know or hate, depending on whether they're killing you all the time :p

I will probably be playing BF 3 and BF2: PR but if I want to play ARMA 2: PR I would need to do a few upgrades to the computer and buy ARMA 2.
Entirely depends on how much time & money I have available. The likely answer is probably neither in the short term. Right now the only game I will immediately buy upon release will be D3.

pre-ordered that myself, bit unsure now as i dont like the idea of having a persistent internet connection to play even the single player. D2, NWN and D3 (if there is a crack out there to stop the internet requirement) are my staple games when i go travelling...

I feel like PR Aus/Nz community actually needs BigD to be the centre of it all for PR:Arma2 to be successful.

Where is the option for RO2? :D

The community needs the community irrespective of forum. The forum is just a meeting place.

Wow isnt that a massive kick in the nuts for the existing Aussie Arma2 community... way to have faith... Also if people expect arma2:PR to just be PR but in arma2 then think again, if you didnt like ArmA2 to begind with nothing has changed..

I play Cod,RO,Bf2,Fh2,BC2,Arma2,Arma2:OA etc etc I don't see your point.

I have no problem adapting to the control styles of all those games and switch quiet regularly from playing one to another in the space of a few hours over a night.

You can't really blame me, just take a look at ausarma.org's PR mod thread. http://www.ausarma.org/forums/showthread.php/188-Project-Reality-MOD?p=11753&viewfull=1#post11753

I'd like to be proven wrong but right now i just have no faith in ausarma running a decent Pure PR:arma2 server.

mate, AusArma (or really AEF CTB) have been running ArmA servers for years, many years, they know what they are doing, PR or not. you dont know what goes on behind the scenes, that AusArma thread is filled by guys who for the most part havnt played PR, so all they see is yet another mod that is over hyped and constantly delayed with little to show for over a years work. and i can perfectly see where they are coming from.

Dont get me wrong, they are keen to give it a shot and see how it plays, and as am i. But for the most part alot of us are sick of the attitude of alot of the PR community that this mod will "Fix" or "save" arma2, which is pure nonsense...

Also you cant run anything but a "Pure" server, its in the EULA, and can techniqally be "charged" for doing so without permission from the PR team. hell they arnt even allowing you to release your own lil mission for PR without talking to them first, which in my honest opinion is complete rubish and against the entire ethos of arma2. But thats a different story entirely...

Anyway im sure ill get flamed by the die hard PR fans (which i am one btw) but hell im a arma2 fanboi so ill stand up for a community im a big part of and a game that ive invested 1000's of hours into not only playing but also creating missions and custom content for a great game...
