Posted August 17, 201113 yr hey guys, just installed a Asus 6950 CU2 2 GB pcix card just to see the differnce from the 560ti and i am having dramas and hope you can help. the card for one, leave my screen resolution at 1920 x 1080 which is fine however, it looks weird, as in the pictures look all pixelated and the colours are not right, and even on mozilla it seems to be artifacting as it just sits there, i have updated the video drivers to the newest and have also deleted the Nvidia drivers i had previously installed. games seems alot different to, the game has streaks of artifacting going on while playing. not sure what the hell is going on, but i am about to go back to the nvidia card just for ease of use.. anyhelp would be good as i havent experienced anything like it before.. i am sure it has something to do with CCC but am not sure.. has anyone had issues like this before ?? cheers in advance, Chrisso [WC] Tpr.Chrisso06 http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/armouredservice.bmp "My other ride is an ASLAV" http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7264/newtanksig.jpg
August 17, 201113 yr could very well be a faulty card.. is it new or one from a friend? Asset Whoring Since Version 0.85 http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/431/notoassest.png
August 17, 201113 yr could be power / heat related...also +1 you could always try an older version of the drivers for the card, dl from ATI/AMD's site and try them. my money would be on heat/power tho. There comes a time in every musician's life when they must decide what instrument they should master. Few. If any are ever worthy enough to master. The cowbell.
August 17, 201113 yr Ultimate way to test is to try it in someone else's PC if able. It could be the contacts aren't quite right and the card needs to be reseated. It could be faulty card and yes if its faulty you will still see differences in different games depending on what graphics technologies are being processed by the card in different games. Also do not confuse PCI-X and PCI-E they are two different technologies your graphics card will be PCI-E. I have used both nVidia and ATI on many occasions, they are both graphics cards that do similar things. It is just unlucky that you have a funny one, it could have easily been the same with an nVidia card. http://www.clan-tea.com/sigs/flames/Poncho-Temp.png Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.

August 18, 201113 yr I had a similar problem with my XFX ATI 5870 - The only way I could fix it was through playing around with the settings in the Catalyst Control Center program (Start > All Programs > Catalyst Control Centre > CCC). Now I'm not exactly sure what setting fixed it, but I went into the 'My Digital Flat Panels' tab then into properties, and ticked 'Enable GPU scaling', 'Reduce DVI frequency on high resolution displays' and 'Alternate DVI operational mode'. Not really sure how that'll go but give it a try. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
