I used to play the first one and it's expansions back on the first xbox. Good times. That was back when games actually need skill, time and patience to finish.

 

This new one looks like it just plays itself. Rubbish.

Yeah I enjoyed the orginal GR but these new ones kinda look like they were pandered towards younger gamers.

mmmaasssiiivvveee fan of the first recons. Where my "spooky" handle came from

I remember playing one where i waited in bushes for ages, i didn't understand it at the time. But the first time i played one seriously was island thunder and some other one on console, the last ones I've played were the war fighter ones co-op.

i know back when i was younger i found the original GR frustrating , but now i miss it. I played advanced war fighter and clocked it in 3 days

Yeah its a shame how all shooters have all kind of merged into one type of fast paced action gameplay. The old rainbow 6 and ghost recon games were hard as nuts to play but extremely satisfying. Cant think of any games that have come out in the past few years that have had the same "feel" to them as the old ones :/

i do like what they are doing with this one on xbox... but, i agree, the older ones were much more fun.

Haha I didn't like the original game because you couldn't see your weapon... I was young and stupid, I thought it was just rainbow six in the forest.

 

Advanced warfighter 1 & 2 (on pc) were great games! Like PR, a good mix of realism and fun. My two favorite touches were how discarded clips would show rounds left in them if they had any and wouldn't if you emptied it, and being able to 'go up' one more stance while standing to stand on your tippy-toes

"And the PC version that turned into Ghost Recon Online? It turns out that was little more than a ruse, and a full PC version of Future Soldier will arrive "at a later date." Which is to say, "after May 22/24."

Well, based on all those comments, aren't we lucky to have PR!!!! I agree with lots of the comments - the original, and the mods that were floating around at the time, were fantastic. Original GR was my last addiction.
