Hey guys,

 

Just a little issue Ive had, seems Ive somehow earnt a place on a vote bot list.

If you guys don't know, its a bot that immediately thumbs down you video as soon as you upload it (or later), I know I only have one after me because I only get 1 thumbs down (1 rate per account ever so 1 bot)

 

I know a number of you guys are on youtube, so I was wondering if any of you have any experience in this area, and any idea on how I can find the username of that bot and block it so no more thumbs downs.

 

Just so you know thumbs influence where your video shows up in related videos list (10 +'s 0 -'s is better than 15+'s 1-'ve)

 

I found this program written by a guy on youtube (C+) called TubeGuardian that can monitor who rates it. But I haven't installed it because, well it looks dodgy.

 

Any info on either part would be great.

Could it be that someone just didn't like your video and thumbed it down? What makes you think it's a bot?

Sorry, I didn't openly state it but I kind of suggested it.

Anyway, I know its a bot because after hours of watching the file upload, all 700mb of it, I watched the final upload process of youtube, it took me to the video as soon as it was 100% and straight away -1 thumbs. I searched the youtube forums and a number of users have the exact same problem.

Cant say I have. I have uploaded a few and never experienced that.

Yeah gave you a thumbs up. Also, NEVER EVER download any of these 'Youtube rating boosters' or whatever. Believe me, I have seen far too many of them infected with backdoors and what not to tell you it's not worth it.

 

All I can recommend is, ignore it. If you have a great video, people will see it and rate it in due time.

Cheers devils, yeh I hear where your coming from, I added it to my quarantine so I can get it back later and it can do no damage there but I believe ignoring it will do me the best in the long run.

Anytime, I am struggling for views and I have considered downloading those programs, but better safe than sorry.
