New PSU & 5770 but BSOD

So I decided to upgrade my PSU to an Antec Tru Power 750w & another 5770 to run crossfire. Got it back from the shop & boots up fine... I run PR for a few seconds/minutes until I get a noise through my headphones & the computer resets. Upon boot up I get this error message, I've tried removing/installing drivers with no luck;

I'm thinking faulty card?

Try it with just one card at a time and test both.

What did you do?

Nothing at all, played Lashkar Valley as opposed to Barracuda, my thinking suggest Lashkar is more GPU hungry so should made the issue worse??

I guess something must've worked when you reinstalled the drivers and stuff.

Ran PR & ARMA 2 tonight which cranked both up a notch with no issues, when ARMA 2 was cranked right up cards reached 74C & 70C, seems pretty normal for high load from what I can read.

Hmmm...tried to jump into PR but same issue kept happening (a few seconds in game would freeze and hear a constant buzzing in headset then reset), disabled crossfire and issue went away. Mind you I run arma 2 on crossfire no issues, is this a card issue or a PR issue? Amy test I can do?

its possibly a bf2 engine issue - i run sli but nvidia cards and found that you have to force sli rendering mode to "alternate frame rendering 2" not sure what the equivalent is for ati cards however ( from memory its the same ).

haven't played with the newer software but i found RadeonPro was good for tweaking ati cards (MVPUMode move the slider till it says alt frame rendering - and you can use different game profiles like you can with nvidia base drivers)

Dude I got crossfire 5770 s aswell and 74 degrees is a bit to much man I play arma 2 cranked up and mine only go to about 40-50 on load. What do yours do at idle?

I run 2 5770 cards in crossfire in PR (maxed out) and have no problems at all. Your set should do it with ease.

I decided to boot up PR last night, still getting the issue stated earlier.

- Issue began when I installed a new PSU (Antec Tru Power 750w) & another 5770 crossfire

- Issue only happens in PR when I have crossfire activated, works single card fine.

- Swapped cards around (with newer card as primary) and still has issue when running crossfire. Still ran fine when crossfire disabled, pointing towards the newer card being OK.

- Does not do this in any other game including heavy games like ARMA 2.

- All drivers updated, not sure on updating bios =\

Is there any other test I can do to narrow the issue down?

It did play PR crossfire enabled for a small period (not initially tho)

have you updated your bios ? (sometimes a bios update will include more Crossfire compatibility) but then again as stated with my previous issue a week ago with the 6950 i couldnt get it to work fine then gave it to a mate and he is having no drams with it, i think it had something to do with my previous Nvidia drivers not being removed correctly and having the AMD drivers on top just confused it terribly.. lol.. so.. not sure man, you have enough power for the card, is it a modular PSU ? maybe the cable you have is faulty and not giving the card the right power ?? try running the power off another modular socket ? just a few options you could TRY to see if it works, if not you may have a faulty card, but lets not go there just yet.. keep trying mate.

Crossfire profiles? Please do explain...

Why would PR be the only game it has issues with =\

go to the ati website to where you download drivers for your card and there should be a separate download below the actual driver download it has profiles which fix known issues for a whole heap of games that have problems running crossfire. PR went funny when i had 5770s in crossfire aswell and downloading the profiles fixed it for me though i didnt have BSOD. Also i would say Chrissos idea of making sure all old display drivers are completely uninstalled.

dunno man just ideas for you to try.
