Zomgz Where Did All This Sticky White Stuff Come From??!!!!

Also i hope the scripting language doesn't change too much, safe to say if its the same engine.

New Animations and Physics... Well thank god for that.

"...And so then I says! 'I caught me a kangaroo!'"

For some reason the Yanks love hearing about that one time...

http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/supportspecialist.bmp Hey! Great Idea Lads! Lets play by the Geneva Rules AND NOT SHOOT THE PRISONER FOR A CHANGE!!!

BiS is trolling.. I've seen them so many times say they were not gonna make a 3rd.. damnit... I hope the engine is almost unrecognizable to the last because it's been overhauled to fix all the long existed bugs/limits.. One can dream..

honestly if you dont like arma2 as it is, then i doubt you will like arma3 any better, i really dont think it will be so different that those that hate it will suddenly love it, and im kinda glad, as imho theres nothing wrong with arma2 :p

was going to say this

not to poop on your guys parade - but even that screenshot just looks like Arma 2....i dont see what the big deal is.

Good Conduct

I can see the difference, larger draw distance, DX10, naval simulation. But the gameplay will remain the same.

Also, what sabre did to his sig, I saw it.

Like Rhodesy I'll be happy if all it is, is ArmA2 with some engine improvements/fixes and more capability for modding teams to take advantage of.

Alot of people won't be happy with that but I'm happy with ArmA2 as it is anyway.

But remember there is still about 12 months until we get to play this anyway. It may still look like ArmA2 now but 12 months is a long time. I remember what the original VBS2/ArmA1 screens looked like and how different the final ArmA1 product was.

Excited anyway :animal_rooster:

There is a big reason to get excited for this if you didn't like A2, one of the biggest drawbacks of the arma series is the clunky animation system and the terrible physics. If they've redone all the animations with PhysX and have ragdolls etc (which from the pictures it looks like they do) then this going to play like a completely different game.

i was saying to a mate recently that the Arma series to me is 2 releases from something that would suck me in for ever!!!!

started playing OA with ACE = WOW...... love it.

I like. How much?

I hope they will remove the blur, That was the most fustrating thing about Arma 2 for me.

You know you can disable it, right?

I am very excite.

They need to make the trigger/cinamatic/waypoint editor easier to use and not rely on people knowing how to code.

Its just a pain in the ass, takes ages just to do the simplest task.

Would be so much easier if it was all drop down options with an "advanced" tab which allowed you to manually add coding.

Ill still buy ArmAIII, im a sucker for it. :D

Definitely need my upgrade now. Arma3, BF3, The Witcher 2 (which runs like a dog on my machine) so much good stuff coming, so little money to spend on an upgrade. :(

This is really looking very nice. Can't wait.

CaptainCleanoff on the servers.

hopefully they will make it less clunky and buggy , thats the thing i hate about ARMA 2 .....

better be smooth handling of weapons and performance

Was never anything wrong with the handling... and the bugs are not what some people make them out to be... the handling becomes much more natural the more you get used to it. and since release the game has very few bugs, atleast no real game breakers. Sure ill get called a fanboi and flamed for this but imho its true, i know many who think the same also...

New ACRE turns us all into robots, can only be a win for us.

ArmA's controls just arn't twitch shooter style, which has become mostly the norm for any kind of FPS, they just take abit of getting used too.

prsigRDEV7.png
well aiming is still twitch shooter if you turn off floating zone, and as for clunkiness, i believe that will go out the window with a new animation system.

It's not a twitch shooter, which is great. Twitch shooters where you just move your mouse so your on screen crosshair covers your target and fire until your target dies are crap IMHO.

In ArmA you have to aim to hit your target, account for ballistic drop, wind (in ACE), watch your fall of shot and adjust, account for penetration of different materials, etc. Just like shooting in RL.

i more meant you can still spin 180 degrees in a split second and have perfect aim, or reiterated you can twitch in an instant to any direction with zero aiming impairment. The part of arma which makes hitting targets hard is generally mp unit warping and at longer ranges as you say the bullet drop etc.
