People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them. - George Bernard Shaw

Re: Osama bin Laden is dead?

ABC news has a story & live stream running as well. Presume they will switch to the white house when that gets under way.

Re: Osama bin Laden is dead?

Sounds like it was an infantry (Special Forces) operation.

Edit:

Obama said bin Laden was killed in a fire fight with US forces earlier today.

A small team of US intelligence forces carried out the attack on a mansion "deep inside Pakistan" where bin Laden was hiding.

"Following a fire fight, they killed bin Laden and took custody of his body," the President confirmed.

Great news, but there is a good chance there will be a big retaliation

REWARD

The Rewards For Justice Program, United States Department of State, is offering a reward of up to $25 million for information leading directly to the apprehension or conviction of Usama Bin Laden. An additional $2 million is being offered through a program developed and funded by the Airline Pilots Association and the Air Transport Association.

Re: Osama bin Laden is dead?

According to the US WikiLeaks files, a Libyan detainee, Abu Al-Libi, “has knowledge of al-Qaeda possibly possessing a nuclear bomb”. Al-Libi, the operational chief of al-Qaeda and a close associate of Osama bin Laden before his detention, allegedly knew the location of a nuclear bomb in Europe that would be detonated if bin Laden were killed or captured.

Can't wait for all the random interweb pics and youtube clips that are going to be made about this.

Re: Osama bin Laden is dead?

Although things are much easier when the accused is dead, interviews/interrogation and a trial could of been helpful.

duh, but there will be no more terrorist attacks now because the only bloke in the world who could 'mastermind' them is dead now.

There comes a time in every musician's life when they must decide what instrument they should master. Few. If any are ever worthy enough to master. The cowbell.
