The release date for CallL of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be announced midway through April, according to the UK's Official PlayStation Magazine.

 

For Modern Warfare 3 to follow suit, a November 8, 2011 date will be necessary.

Battlefield 3, for its part, has been shaping up as contender to the throne with an autumn 2011 release window, though has not yet committed to a full-on, toe-to-toe face off.

    *rumour has it that for a long time infinity ward wanted out of call of duty but being owned by activision, they had little choice. And respawn are not making a shooter similar to MW.

    I agree...although for some reason I prefer Halo 2 campaign over all others. There was just something about it that sat well with me. It probably was the cliffhanger at the end....

     

    It was one of those campaigns where I sat back and said 'Wow'

    Halo1 however should be considered the antichrist if you don't like regenerating health. It was the game that pioneered the whole system by way of the regenerating shield... which in essence is the same thing because you died in like 2 shots after it was depleted anyway.

    That being said, I don't think Halo went for annual game releases. Correct me if I'm wrong, I never really followed it.

    yeah i don't know about you but the word COD has been automatically associated with COD kiddies and 11 year old screaming P**is down their mics....don't get me wrong Call of Duty was great..then it became COD.. and i stopped caring about anything to do with it...that's not saying i won't play it tho. It still has a "somewhat playable" single player.

    Read my earlier post moon, other than the studio still carrying the Infinity Ward name, it won't actually be made by the same team that did COD1/2/MW/MW2. All of the senior staff from those games now work at Respawn.

    AFAIK Infinity Ward wanted to break away from COD all together and now, like rhodsey said, they're making something completely different. I've heard down the grape vine that it's their take on a sci-fi halo killer.

    i agree...but i also heard a rumor that its going to be based around ghost, and apparently ghost did survive apparently he only got grazed by the bullet that went through his head, and that sniper team that was with you at the start of the mission saw everything and managed to put the flames out before he died.....APPARENTLY
