Zonda's NZLAV texture

So i was talking to [R-COM] HangMan about making textures for the NZDF faction. As a introductory test thing he tasked me to reskin the Canadian LAV-3 to look like a NZLAV. This is what i have so far.

Im not sure if those reflector plates on the back would stay on in a combat situation. You might want to double check that with a person in the know.

Here it is without them while driving offroad:

But onroad they're on:

Yea i know the license plate and reflectors are in the wrong place :p. The model doesnt have a sheet of w/e in front of the jerry cans so i just put it behind it. And the license plate cant be put where it is IRL.

As you can see in this video, there are plates on the back for the relfectors but they have been removed.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZlxQkmMfoE]YouTube - NZ Army LAV III backing up, Big Boys Toys Part 4, 11 Nov 06[/ame]

And in this video there are no plates at all:

I think It would be better to not have the relectors, as there are no plates for them on the actual model and it seems like IRL not all the LAVs have them anyway.

Would have to agree with Vapo regarding the refectors. But all in all it looks pretty goo Zonda.

I found a fairly good series of pics of the NZLAV's in a training exercise Here

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them. - George Bernard Shaw

I reckon it looks good. I'm a plus one to removing the red and yellow things. I think it looks like something they'd stick on whilst on a public road or doing training or something.

Just another point - Is it me or is the skin a bit too 'blue'? Especially where it looks like dust or dirt or something just above the wheels, it really looks very blue.

Otherwise, I like what you've done with the place.

Reflectors would be removed during operations. That's like painting a big fat target on ya bum.

Looks excellent. Nicely done.

Why did you put reflectors on an armoured combat vehicle?

That's like a soldier running around with a bright pink helmet on.

Out of curiosity, what is the difference between that and the Canadian one that looks identical already?

Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.

Little to no difference between the Canadian LAVIII and the NZLAV. FYI, it's the same base vehicle as the US Stryker.

They are all based on the Mowag Piranha IIIH. Australian and USMC LAV variants are based on the Piranha I.

EDIT: Or did you mean the actual asset in game? If so, disregard my post.

Home base registration ( license plates ) would never be worn in a combat situation either.
