BSOD HELP!!!!! :(

Heyy guys,

I've recently been getting a reccurring BSOD..

the error that keeps coming up is 0 x 0000003b (something something something) i havnt been able to catch the rest.

I was just wondering if any of yous out there have had this error before, and how you went about fixing it.

Im on a new custom desktop I built myself, and I am currently running windows 7. I really really really need to fix my computer as I have only had it for around 2 months, and the BSODs wont go away :(

Have you asked google?

if you have OC'd anything, turn it back to default settings

plus we need more info on what sort of system you have.. could be multiple factors..

Asset Whoring Since Version 0.85

when do you get the BSOD

is it when loading the map and getting to 20% and loading the sounds when changing the map or just after it starts the round

Furthermore, is it just while gaming, while doing specific other tasks or just at random intervals like web browsing or doing a word document?

What does OC'd mean?

My system is....

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD5770 Ultra Durable 1GB

Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB HD502HJ

CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus 500W

Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 Rev2 Motherboard

CoolerMaster Elite 430 Black with window

G.Skill ECO F3-10666CL8D-4GBECO (4x2GB) DDR3

And im currently running Windows 7 Ultimate.

I am getting the BSOD at random intervals like Psyrus said, it comes up when im playing BLOPS, Sims 3, and even when I'm just browsing the web.

Also, are these BSOD's doing any damage to my computer? Or do I just loose any unsaved data?

thanks.

Reinstalled your Graphic drivers?

After a quick google of the stop code, that's the first thing i would have done.

Also trying using a program to clean/fix up your registry a bit.

The BSOD's don't do any damage themselves (unless you lose data in any unsaved applications); they are an indication of something wrong in your system.

I know you're aren't, but to keep ignoring them is a bad idea as it could be something like your PSU shorting out* which could take a whole range of things inside your case with it.

*I'm not saying that this is your problem, its just an example.

Thanks for all the ideas guys,

I believe re-installing the drivers for my graphics card has fixed the problem, because I did that this morning, and I haven't had a BSOD all day :D :D :D

Nice one shady... although I'm skeptical that the graphics drivers should be the cause of the BSOD...

Ok so reinstalling the graphics drivers did not fix the problem. I have had two more BSODS this morning just with different error codes.

The first one happened when I was just browsing the web and got the code "0x000000c2".

Just after that I was playing BLOPS and I got the error code of "0x0000001a".

I really don't know how to fix these problems, any help is much appreciated guys!!

Ok this thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35246

will tell you how to HOW TO: Debug Memory Dumps (Figure out what is causing a BSOD).

Follow the steps and post up the minidump.

0x0000001a = memory issue by the looks, and 0x000000c2 could be a driver issue.

Ok so Ive done everything that tutorial says but I dont understand the outcome, or how to fix the problem, Ive attatched an image of what it came up with..

You might as well just backup and reformat...

easy fix.

Looking at all the other BSOD errors I agree with Bahlye that this is looking very much like a memory problem.

Try running Memtest - http://www.memtest.org/ and see if it finds any errors.

Even if it doesn't find any errors you should probably still troubleshoot the memory by removing all but one of the memory sticks and see if the problem still occurs.
