Hey guys,

anyone using FF4 yet? It's still in Beta, and I must admit it's not running the best at the moment, having some freezes and slow tabs. But it still looks the goods.

 

Anyway I was mainly wondering if people had got any of the more popular addons working? Like Downthemall, greasemonkey and Youtube2mp3 etc?

 

I'm probably going to go back to 3.5 and wait till the addons are officially supported. Although a friend said that FF4 didn't uninstall the old one - I think it has in my case because its not working...

    Just downloaded it.

     

    at a first glance it really looks the part. One thing i did notice is that it installed it to my X86 program files, rather than my 64bit. It seems to live up to its reputation of being 5 times faster than 3.6. But, we will see what happens. Just realised it deleted all my bookmarks. oh well.

    Yeah, maybe its my oldish hardware but I seem to be getting lots of freezes and lockups.

    Also, when there are imbedded youtubes and also on regular youtube videos, when I scroll the writing and borders clip into the video which is quite annoying.

    Nope, didn't know it was an addon.

     

    As such, the mozilla addons website is semi blocked at school - it refuses connection because some security things are disabled by the filter. (trying to force us to use IE)

    Is there a way to revert back to FF3? I dont like this one the bars are in the wrong spot and right clicking links isnt the same for every link i.e. a forum page link has a different property selection compared to a favourites links.

    Driving me freaking nuts.

    you probably just have to set your default address bar search to google's feeling lucky.

    hahaha fast??? i know they claim its up to x6 faster..... but i find it locks up ALL the time..... x6 slower imo lol!:blowup:

     

    im trialing 4 at home, but much prefer 3 for work as stated above....

    4 crashes for me from time to time and the interface has taken time to get used to (why fix what ain't broke). Tab groups and what not are pretty gold though and it certainly seems to cause less slowdown with loads of tabs open than 3 did.

    I have been holding back a bit for the main issues to get ironed out before i upgrade. Always hear of troubles with new browsers and there is no harm with me being on 3 for a bit longer, You guys are good Ginnie pigs proving my point :p
