I has question, can someone halp puhlease

 

- Has anyone had much experience with Direct 2 Drive?

- Is the service reliable?

- Do you need to download software to run game bought from Direct 2 Drive, like D2D own version of Steam?

- Hows does it all work

I was just a first time user for BlackOps Smoov

 

I purchased the game, with the promo code of course and it was all smooth sailing, the phone activation for purchases is a little dodgy, but if it messes up (like it did for me), you should be able to solve it fairly quickly with a support ticket.

 

Reliable: So far, yes

Software: Nope, after I bought BO, it gave me a DL link to a .rar with what I assume has a Blackops installer in it which then installs via Steam. When BO is released you are also given a CD Key to activate the game.

 

Personally I;m waiting for the CD Key so I can download it via Steam, rather than trust my Firefox downloader with 8gb of data.

Yeah I used it for black ops a swell, worked kind of good so far.

I downloaded black ops off the site with google chrome, as far as I know it's an rar file, thats what it is on my pc, so I tried to use the install.exe off winrar and I got a system error. I suppose you have to wait for the cd key from d2d to be emailed to you and then you download it off steam.

from what ive seen the link they give you to the rar. install opens up steam activation where you'll put the cd key then after that i'd say it would continue installing with no need to re download it from steam.

Well i went ahead and bought it via D2D, had no issues with the Phone Activation and everything went smoothly, now I have to wait for it to download going to take a while, only downloading at maximum of 150kb :S
