Cool, so for all those earlier starters, get on Server 1 not 2 and so we can populate that for some nights.

Specifically we've installed network drivers that better match the controllers on the Windows system.

 

That's the only change though, in the network drivers, so this is a quite specific test about & around the RB & other network-ish issues that have been reported for this server.

 

We particularly want to know if maps which were common problems to play on are still having the same problems.

Got onto wanda shan last night and there was absolutly no lag. Also kokan. :db: :db: :db:

i think the new card driver was to fix the mass disconnects which plagued it.

 

need to load test it - it wont produce any lag, rubber banding or disconnects until its under stress cokeman.

Hmm, kinda, maybe. I'd like to think that all that this will fix is the 'rubber banding' you've been seeing, perhaps.

 

I believe that the mass disconnects are an in-game/engine/mod issue, as I suspect it could turn out that all of what you're experiencing could be.

Again, yes & no. In that in chatting with Bayhle & Uncle_Darth & reading here, it seems that the lag/RB'ing could occur at any level of load or players in the game.

 

That said, yes, surely getting a large # of players into the game will be an excellent test, so please do that too!

Crashes are usually a PR issue. There's also an issue that seems to be popping up with lag spikes every 15s or so, which seems to be a PR issue. But rubber banding would seem to be a server issue, other servers don't seem to be having these issues judging by the PR forum posts.

Op archer today seemed more or less 100% perfect.

i can tell right of the bat its an improvement last time i played silent eagle i couldnt run for 30 secs without lag its awesome already

Yes I will say that Silent eagle is a major improvement it still has a little rubber banding but is very playable. I played the same map yesterday and it was shocking you could not scope up on the first try, it would take a goes just to scope up. Will see if it worse during the maps tho just to see if the memory leak thingy comes into play.

No change other than it not turfing everyone off randomly. Still chugs on the usual suspects. Silent Eagle, Wanda Shan.

 

Might be time to say that we don't put those maps in rotation.

 

You people are giving these maps more chance than Yamalia ever had. Plus that map hasn't even been tried.

Nah mate © was server side, not client.

I don't know if this will help you diagnosing the issue, Darth/Richard/Team, but this is what it looks like from an in-game perspective. The RB is quite constant but the really bad 'problem with connection' is quite sporadic, no more often than once every 10 seconds on average.

It happens on both. Seems to get worse over time - but that time has increased with the memory increase. (memory leak?)

 

Some maps are especially bad for it - Wanda Shan and Silent Eagle the amount of time that is playable is even shorter.

Nah it's both servers [that vid is server 1], although what you see there is on the worse end of the scale. On server 2 (and generally server 1 too) it starts out fine (like any of the other videos in my channel) after a restart and as maps progress or we hit one of the bad culprits (Silent Eagle, Wanda Shan), it becomes like that. Actually people said that today's Silent Eagle was decent, so I don't know... I just came in for Archer earlier in the day which was flawless, and then for Wanda which was... like that.

 

I'll try and get some footage of a moderate RB scenario (very obvious when playing infantry) so we have a clear picture of all ends of the scale.

My experience has been quite the opposite in fact... Kokan has been one of the few that I've hardly ever experienced issues with, locally and aboard.

I haven't played on server1 since the update, but prior to that every bigD round I had on kokan had some degree of rubberbanding, always playable, but always present.

well i got in today when 63 players, changed maps, kicked to desktop, tried again, 45 players, kicked to desktop...WTF?????
