SSD Failure

Damn. My OS hard drive, my pride and glory - G Skill 128GB Falcon 2 SSD drive - has failed. Not that I am blaming it on the latest PR install or anything..

Reading up on forum threads, there seem to be a fairfew people complaining similarly about these.

I only bought it Feb 2010 so still under the 2 year warrenty, but wondering what SSD drives others use / recommend. It is only my system drive, so minimal data loss (have 2GB mirrored backup drive also). Still.. painful to have to reinstall the OS. Guess I was about due for a rebuild.

I have an OCZ Vertex 60GB, still going strong. Though I'm sure there'd be better ones out there, I got this ages ago.

These seem to be the best price/performance point at the moment and are on my "DO want " list.

Not that brand in particular but pretty much any of the newish sandforce 1200 controler based ssd's .

Next step would be something in a PCIe card ssd like

Stuperfiying performance but punch in the face price.

Maybe next pay...:hi:

when I finaly stop paying CS I plan to get 4 Crucial Real SSD C300's and stripe them in RAID0 but no doubt they will be made obsalete by the new SandForce 2000 range of SSD's
