i think its quality has been going down the drain rapidly, even worse than last year.

 

Apart from Die Antwoord (those crazy mofo's) and Tool/Rammstein (+ the 3 hour wait standing through 4-5 bands you couldnt care less about just to get a spot in the D-Barrier) its just a bunch of small time Triple J signed artists.

last year there was a few bands that went quite well with my tastes aka, The Decemberists.

This year there is nothing and I actually wanted to go.

Pretty disappointed with it actually I was looking forward to it so much after my first BDO this year.

 

Just going to see Black Keys sideshow with my sister. The rest isn't really worth $160

Tool, Rammstein, Ratatat, TBK, LCD Soundsytem and maybe Iggy are the only reasons I'm going. Other than that, it's a pretty meh lineup.

yeah the soundwave lineup doesnt tickle me other than SLAYER and Queens, ive been really been hoping slayer would turn around and do BDO the day before...........

also soundwave seems like a mainly metal festival>??? which isnt per say "girlfriend approved" lol.....

Yeh, of if your like me and your soft mates bailed on Soundwave this year, No Sleep Till has an equally amazing lineup

There's so many bands to see this time round, I'm tempted to drive up to Gold Coast to go BDO twice to avoid missing out by timetable clashes.

haha, gotta get your girl into metal, like mine! In fact she's down right pissed that our honeymoon coincides with the BDO and the only chance to see Rammstein!

got my 4 tickets + mates have thers too... got em through ther website, it actually worked after midnight unlike previous years i've got them.

 

mainly going for Rammstein, BDO lineups as of late have just been terrible, but i'll still have fun getting drunk with a group of mates

 

P.S. ther is a second sydney show too...(same line-up, one day after) tickets on sale October 11 12:01am

 

will probably be attending soundwave too, much more my style of festival :rock:

Didn't their bassist quit and they disbanded?

Not afaik, I saw them at splendour a month of two ago. They have cycled though members a fair bit.

Isn't wolfmother just one of those bands where the actual band is the singer and the rest are just musical stigs ?

I'd go for Bliss and Esso, those guys are amazing.

 

However, I hate the big shows now so I'll just wait for a club night again.

 

Big Day Out = too hot, long line for beer and toilets.

You guys have a great time though, some good bands for sure.

Is Big Day out like Soundwave where almost every band does a Sideshow? Or if not, when does the sideshow info generally come out?

not happy jan, them and tool are my main reasons for going......not happy at all:blowup:

 

they have had a year of touring and have earned their time, just unfortunate.

...what a horrible line up, all there is, is the silly bands that you hear 13-19 year olds listen to nowadays... no offence to anyone here that listens to them its just i would rather go to one of shady's concerts then pay $160 to see bands i don't even know or like...

for tool and the keys, i WAS very happy to pay the price, but now.....
