Posted August 20, 201014 yr Ok so I tried to play PR today, and when I got the the login screen I found that my Online account was gone, to be replaced with an Offline account with no name next to it. Also the screen was at the lowest resolution when I went in-game, so I'm assuming that means my default settings are all gone. I went into Manage and Retrieve. I managed to log into my account, but then the game told me I need to run PR from pr.exe. Which I already am, I double checked. So atm I cannot play PR online. Any suggestions? http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/oo241/SprinterOz/Fondue1.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/opagamaserv.jpg
August 20, 201014 yr Author Well I managed to get it to work by making a new shortcut straight from pr.exe, but all my settings are still deleted. http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/oo241/SprinterOz/Fondue1.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/opagamaserv.jpg
August 20, 201014 yr I think your profile has somehow been deleted from your BF2 folders. You managed to retrieve it. Your next problem - try making a shortcut on your desktop with parameters similar to these "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +fullscreen 1 +restart 1 +playerName Sandy_Beret +playerPassword notreallymypasswordSee if it helps. Just reset your audio, graphics and control settings when you are into your account again. Edit those parameters into the shortcuts properties and see how you go. That's my best guess. August 20, 201014 yr You should be able to retrieve your settings and such unless something catastrophic happened and it has deleted your profile folder. Navigate to: C:\Users\you\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles In there you should find some folders and two files (global.con and BattleCommoDefaultUserSettings.con). The folders are currently the important ones. 0001 to 000n should be listed, and in each folder you can see a file called Profile.con If this profile.con matches your username, then it is hopefully the correct old one. You then check your video.con to see if it has the high settings and correct resolution (most settings @ 3 and at a high resolution), once you've ascertained which folder contains your old profile settings, you then can copy these .con files over the current profile, which will be listed in your Global.con as GlobalSettings.setDefaultUser. And with that, you should have your old settings back. I would recommend taking this time to purge everything in C:\Users\you\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\ and C:\Users\you\Documents\Battlefield 2\LogoCache This will let it reoptimize shaders and speed up your login time. Edit: I forgot to mention, in Global.con, change the second line to the following to have your tags back GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "[N/A]" (without the retarded space that the forums put in there) Edited August 20, 201014 yr by Husker http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. August 20, 201014 yr Author Thanks guys. I couldn't get my old profile files back (had to redo audio/video settings) but I've retrieved my account and it's working fine. EXTRA WEIRD: the game used to take around 2 minutes to log into my account. Now it takes 2 seconds. Maps also load twice as fast. It's a mystery. http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/oo241/SprinterOz/Fondue1.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/opagamaserv.jpg
