July 29, 201014 yr my 8800GS died some two years ago i remember the exact moment it died on me , i was playing GTA SA and the game suddenly started to crash in a funny way , very hard to describe visually , it went grey and then BLUESCREEN!. after that i had to stick with ATi 9500GT. Last year i got my ATi Raedon 4890 , been pretty good so far. Haven't looked back since [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC][WC]Private http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/armouredservice.bmp http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2315/ubd4327.png http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/6780/blackmagikzwc.png "A tank is like a fat timid kid at a dance party , always too shay to get into the action and ask a girl to dance with him and always backs down after every approach" -Some Marine Capitan i forgot- Iwo Jima
July 30, 201014 yr I did this to a GeForce 7600 when the trick was first "discovered" (have used a reflow oven before but never connected 2-and-2 together). Still works great (though I don't use it).
July 30, 201014 yr Heh.. Would expect anyone with an older XBox 360 woudl know all about this. My son seems to do this pretty regularly to fix RROD, etc. Go a couple of friends consoles he fixes like this. Of course the issues with those was also issues with stable board and good contact with heatsink. Seems to fix it for a while, but generally comes back after a while. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
