Posted January 18, 201015 yr We have changed the requirements - apologies to all - but we really want to target a particular audience for this event. I will work on another event which in all likelihood occur prior to this due to the level of coordination required - please don't think we are forgetting our older member base. http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/invitation.jpg The clan captains are discussing the structure of the next Forum Member's Skirmish - and before we go down the path of numerous hours of preparation and planning are seeking the input from the people that this proposed event is geared towards. The purpose of the night is to introduce newer players to these events in a less stressful/ friendly manner, provide training, and to generally welcome new members to our community. Please read carefully - This event is for new forum members/players (post count < 200/ and joined within the past 6 months*). If you don't fit into this category, please abstain from commenting and voting If sufficient numbers aren't obtained - we will either open this up to other forum members or move to a skirmish layer map. In the event we do get 64 people signed up - priority will be given to newest members. Situation: Our AO for this match is Muttra Docks. http://www.gloryhoundz.com/prmm/users/rhino/mc2/muttrah_minimap_tn.jpg Mission: US Team: Your mission is to Secure the docks area and then push into the city eliminating resistance. Your mission is to setup defensive perimeters and then push the US from your territory. Execution: US Team: You will be allocated an experienced Squad Leader to provide direction on the ground. Infantry Squads will board Helos manned by experienced pilots for transport to the AO. APC Squads will provide support to infantry squads, patrolling for enemies around the docks. Intrantry Squads will build and man defensive positions. Squads will then push into the city area, probing for enemy defensive postions. MEC Team: You will be allocated an experienced Squad Leader to provide direction on the ground. Infantry will embark their main base area and setup defensive positions throughout the city. Squads not assigned to defence will then probe the docks area in an attempt to push the Americans from your soil. Administration: Standard and Squad Selectable Kit layouts should be utilised. Commands: We encourage the use of Mumble on this night. ETA: the purpose behind choosing this map is a sort of a 'lesson's learnt' exercise http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/aux1_zpsab5224fd.png
January 18, 201015 yr I think I'm just in the 6 months I'll be there @Noddy, will clan captains and bD regs be squadleading and/or flying choppers? Inq. Ford_Jam001 "Towards danger; but not too rashly, nor too straight" Consider playing with Inqursion.See here.
January 18, 201015 yr Author Yes that's the plan http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/aux1_zpsab5224fd.png

January 18, 201015 yr count me in.. : ) *Edit- Any chance that if the numbers are sufficient, that we may have squads pre-planned and posted up. Just thought this may enable each squad to have a chat about their role and kits, and also give the squad leaders a heads up on what part of the structure that has been posted, that they will be designated. January 19, 201015 yr i wont vote, but if you need a positive LAV driver/gunner i will fill that spot. i would love nothing more than to show our new comers a good tactical time. I'd be up for joining him...? since i managed to "pull it off"? so to speak? DON'T YOU CLUCK WITH ME, BUDDY! ---------------------- After that night I started peeing out the window to avoid going down the hallway when it was dark.
January 19, 201015 yr I dare say chopper pilots and APC drivers will be chosen on their ability to wait patiently until ordered to do something, and not wander off and do their own thing in the interim, it's not specifically about who the "best" APC driver will be ... but Noddy will have to confirm.

This. I would like to see an APC in an actual infantry support role, rather than going hunting alone in South City etc Inq. January 19, 201015 yr be awesome if we could have our commander on TS so he can adjust accordingly... section 3 move to secure south of sec 4, LAVSEC move to support 3 and hold, would be a great game, and im all in for the extra role play if thats what you need. we could use it more like a dismount. I have not voted and dont intend on doing so either. January 19, 201015 yr I'm astounded that some people [5], after having their votes removed due to not fitting either criteria, still insist on voting again despite the big red text explaining what I can only deem a very simple set of appropriate voters. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. January 19, 201015 yr Sound like a noob gathering! I sorta felt the during the last night I didn't have as much enthusiasm: partially cause the mec team kept pwning us... Reading the post i expected some hard-core gaming, but found it was pretty much just another night of pr for me I hope this game will be more interesting Ill probablly play, since it sounds more teamworky This isn't flying. This is falling with style
January 19, 201015 yr im keen but im just out of the 6 mnths http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx143/CaptnCrunch240/crunchCTB-AGBsig.png
January 19, 201015 yr Considering that it's highly unlikely that there will be 60+ people signed up in the last 6 months that will post here, chances are you'll be in. I'm guessing what will happen is that once initial 'newbie' interest is garnered, it will be opened up to sign ups with priority going to those who signed up to the forums closest to 2010... so someone like me would be screwed Edit: Here's your 64 newest potential players http://www.bigdgaming.net/memberlist.php?&order=Desc&sort=joindate&pp=65 edit again: Although I wish that there was a requirement to make at least 1 post in the "introduce yourself" thread before being able to view forum member areas, which would hopefully get people a little more involved... only 7 of those 65 people have actually posted since joining Edited January 19, 201015 yr by Husker http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. January 19, 201015 yr Perhaps have a rolling server message on Servers 1 and 2 advertising the night? Something like "Get more involved in the BigD Community, sign up at whereever and register your interest in a new member training night!" Inq. January 22, 201015 yr I think there are enough worthless spam threads on this forum for me to avoid posting something u guys dont really need to read Ill be in this if im within the 6month time frame. I like to let my actions and rifle do the talking Edit: april, well i guess not then lol The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy.
