January 15, 201015 yr Turn the textures down to medium, thats a common fix. http://i.imgur.com/zoL1k.png
January 16, 201015 yr you can download an exe (or modify your current exe) to utilise more memory, which allows you to keep textures on high and not crash threads on it over on the PR forums....i cant remember the exact method so you will have to search man, sorry Good Conduct http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/goodconduct.bmp

January 16, 201015 yr Processor: Intel® Core2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.9GHz It's the clock speed on your CPU would be the only thing affecting performance. Though you should be able to handle it quite fine, BF2 only utilizes one core, therefore clock speed of the core is the main performance area BF2 uses. I don't think that would cause crashing though, you might want to check what sort of programs are running in the background, eg. Anti-virus etc, you would be surprised how much they affect the game itself. Edited January 16, 201015 yr by YAK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
January 16, 201015 yr That exe is included in v1.5 Up your virtual memory and/or turn down textures to medium. Should fix. http://www.ancientdev.com/images/devsig.png
January 16, 201015 yr In case you don't know how to up the size of your paging file (virtual memory), right click on My Computer, go to properties, go into advanced, click on performance, go into the advanced tab on that and then down the bottom (third option) you can change the size. Mine is at 4gb and I have no problems. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
January 16, 201015 yr Guys, thanks for the help so far!!! its looking good, but , when Ryza said about running backround programs and such, Thats not really an issue, i reformatted yesterday, and the first thing a ran/installed was project reality and i still have the crash. Even if i put textures on medium and everything else on high, i still crash, Im intrested in playing project reality maxed out, to get the full grip on it and such. Anyway... Thanks for the help so far!!
January 20, 201015 yr My bet is on a Vista related issue here. Do you CTD or just get booted from the server back to server browser?
January 20, 201015 yr U say you did a reformat/reinstall,,, maybe a silly question,, but have ya updated all ya drivers??? "You will be very hard-pressed to find a self-professed hardcore gamer that actually spends more time playing video games as opposed to whining and crying about them. "
January 20, 201015 yr im under the impression none of us can run at MAX graphics.... no matter what goodies you got... isnt it a game issue ? i just lower textures to medium and im right but.... with my 2 cards.. it aint a tech issue.. January 20, 201015 yr I can run it maxed out no problem. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z174/ironchefspook/spook_BF2_PR_1.png
January 20, 201015 yr I too run it at 1680x1050 with every setting as high as it goes Windows 7 64 bit http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. It tells you not to play the second worst PR map [burning Sands] (first is Wanda Shan). QFT: if you dont get pissed off when you lose you dont care enough
January 20, 201015 yr i used to run max everything at 100+ constant fps (the good maps) at 1280x1024 on xp with my single 8800GT XXX but now i run a slightly below medium setup cause im outputing 1920x1080 on win 7 64bit at a playable frame rate. and no i wont go lower than 1920x1080 res cause it would look crap at 40" http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6989/25156655.jpg
January 20, 201015 yr 4890 ("autotuned"/overclocked), all setting on max, AA as well. XP OS. Most maps run at 100fps . (ne1 recall the console command to lock fraps at a higher lvl, I've forgotten it.. something like "game.lockFraps XXX" ?) http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
January 20, 201015 yr Bahlye, Fraps and FPS are different One is for recording One is frames per second Because I'm bored at work I'll answer both... Fraps: - Go to the "movie/recording" tab and select "Half Resolution" and set the "capture frames" to 100 (custom size). FPS: - Go to console - Type game.lockfps 0 http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. It tells you not to play the second worst PR map [burning Sands] (first is Wanda Shan). QFT: if you dont get pissed off when you lose you dont care enough
January 20, 201015 yr Yes..Whoops..I always do that.. (fraps/fps ). Thankyou. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
