Posted January 12, 201015 yr Do you own a Sound Blaster, from the Live! through to the Audigy 2 series? Do not appreciate the fact that 64 bit Windows (XP, Vista or 7) hates you? Are fairly competent with technical aspects of sound? :db: Have a go with the drivers from these fellas: http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/ Compatibility List I've installed them instead of the drivers from Creative and they have worked a treat. Just be aware, these are Open Source drivers, and are going to require tinkering and tweaking for a while before you attempt to use them for games etc. Also make sure you read through all the help files and website to understand exactly what these drivers are capable of, as it even comes with an SDK so you can develop them yourself! (if your into that sorta thing). There is also an awesome amount of sound input / output customisation available. Things these did for me: Improved sound quality. (could just be plaecebo effect lol) No sound issues (distortion, scratchiness etc) Microphone works with more than 4gb of ram! (common symptom of 64-bit) If you are sound studio specialist you might already know about these, if not, these are made for you! Also, these will also work on 32 bit systems, but I mainly posted them up because of them fixing my issues with 64 bit windows sound. http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/43/gossyf15.png Getting Airborne since 2009
January 12, 201015 yr Cheers Gossy, about to move to Win7 and I run an Audigy2 - these should come in handy! Where's the cheese? http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2315/ubd4327.png
January 12, 201015 yr Man I hate Creative's bull****. I am boycotting them and buying an Asus sound card or something else next time. I said that last time of course. Creative are not the only ones guilty of poor support. I've got an Asus xonar DX that's been collecting dust for the past three months as the Win7 beta drivers for it were rubbish. Though saying that they released a new Win7 drivers a few days ago. I'm not putting the card back in though until I see some positive feedback. http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/645/rx2yg8.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmp http://cache.www.gametracker.com/server_info/203.14.173.90:19577/b_350x20_C692108-381007-FFFFFF-000000.png
January 13, 201015 yr I personally use the "PAX" modified drivers on my Audigy. The kX Project isn't really suited to games, where as the PAX drivers are modified Creative ones http://www.hardwareheaven.com/pax-drivers/
January 14, 201015 yr Author Yeah I noted that EAX doesn't work properly with the kX ones, but the sound still seems to work properly so i'm not fussed http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/43/gossyf15.png Getting Airborne since 2009
