Posted December 18, 200915 yr After the new addition of the UAV, I'm beginning to think that it could help, ALOT. Our match with bD on Ejod (milo-spill match) showed that if you know where people are, then you win the game. The only problem with going commander for the sole purpose of the UAV is that it takes one more off the ground, which could really turn the match around. In pubs its a different story really, but if one team has a competent commander they usually win the match, from what I've seen. tl;dr is commander worth it now?
December 18, 200915 yr Yes, most deffinatly, in Pubs it helps incredibly to organise the team and 90% of the time, a team with a half competent commander will beat a team without one. http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/Chanvlan/new_kit.jpg yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't. Its exactly like knowing about the stuff you dont know about, that way you know theres stuff you dont know so when you know what you dont know you can say "ah i knew that!"[/quote']
December 18, 200915 yr Author But I've yet to see a team with two commanders going against eachother now that would be an awesome game
December 18, 200915 yr I've tried commanding. I have. It was SO insanely boring between UAVs Cause noone, like literaly NOONE would talk to me when i was giving them orders. (well, bahlye did twice...) Thats why i dont command in pubs. December 18, 200915 yr Author Type to the team, thats what I do, most squad leaders are all 'hurp derp ima go do this now and take a vow of silence' so speak to the team on K chat so everybody knows whats going on. Most SL's don't pass on intelligence to their greens anyway.
December 18, 200915 yr *sighs* yeah i know... It kinda sucks, cause i always used to like commanding. I think its the only thing that's become less fun since vBF2... December 18, 200915 yr The way VOIP is used in PR commanding is hard. Too many people spam chat when most of the time the comms should be quiet and then the commander and SL can communicate more without any interruptions. December 18, 200915 yr I don't find the comms hard to manage, mute the spammy ones until you need something from them if they won't shut up after u ask them to. Video whore time! December 18, 200915 yr Nice work on the vid....i made it through half way. That seemed at least like it was worth it though, they were talking to you and listening to you. I like the UAV's at least it gives the commander eyes on the battlefield. I think the marker system needs a little bit of tweaking to make the squads that are close to it more aware without the commander having to actually talk to them. But really the commander needs more firepower. Everything needs to be laser guided so he can't go nuts by him self, but definitely need varying long range ordinances. Jdam once a round, arty strike me 3 times and then tank/attack heli rounds every 5-10 mins. If the enemy is doing the right thing and defending with 60-70 of their force then to be able to over power and disrupt them you need follow an arty strike in to the flag. Small strikes for tanks and apcs because u hardly ever have a HAT kit when you run into them and that kit has been nerfed way too hard to be used in a quick scenario. It provides support to ground troops and with eyes in the sky they will know whats coming. Noddy´s Awesomeness = HAPPY GEK http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm127/vandal1313/Disobidience-small.jpg
December 18, 200915 yr Not for scrims. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy213/Frenzal/ANZ.png
December 18, 200915 yr Excellent vid Psyrus. lol 'Buzz? ....Buzz?' The challenge is to get SLs used to someone in the commander role again. Some people probably dont even know about the alternative comms button. Doesn't that TS lady annoy you, Psyrus? I turned her off ages ago. Where's the cheese? http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2315/ubd4327.png
December 19, 200915 yr Tip: B(default) allows you to talk to just the highlighted squads instead of muting others and using (.). [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
December 19, 200915 yr Until the Commander has a kick button for SL the position is unplayable in pub games. Scrims and community nights is another matter and is a big advantage. :hi:
December 20, 200915 yr Psyrus - nice vid - might have to give commander a go again - made me jump at the end!! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
