Apex Internet have some great ISP packages going at the moment.

I was speaking with the lead Network Engineer (Cody) just now and he's added all GamingAU servers to the unmetered list, as well as all Steam Content Servers in Australia and all games.on.net servers

I've been with Netspeed and Velocity previously and they've both had some pretty serious contention issues and their unmetered deals are extremely lack luster, but since switching to Apex it's been pretty good. Nowhere near as good as the speeds I was getting on Internode ADSL2+, but the best on TransACT so far.

So if you're on TransACT, I recommend you support the little guy and change to Apex - they actually listen to their customer base and take affirmative action.

Plus, you get free quota to the PR servers :D

Telstra have a monopoly on the hardware to my block of units.

I have researched it and I would love to be on someone else's ISP but the

government has given Telstra/Bigpong sole access/control

over whatever it is that services the units here.

I have access to Iinet, I think... but argh... Bigpong it is and remains

for mainly financial reasons (ironically).

It is a similar monopoly to what you face, Mr. Stabby.
