Posted November 30, 200915 yr Why do it? There's no benefit to it anymore. I understand that it may be ingrained on a few people to hit prone as soon as the shooting starts, and this is essential when you're out in the open, but I've seen heaps of people doing it in urban/CQB areas and its hilarious, as you just crouch and move while firing and you usually get the better of them. As I confirmed with ned, the benefit of the BF2 1.5 patch is now insta proning wrecks your deviation, you are better off crouching or standing as you peek around a corner, unless you plan on staying on that corner and covering. http://users.on.net/hindes/bigdy/valour.gifhttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5224/operationcrownribbon02py7.jpg yeaaa booooy.
November 30, 200915 yr Smaller target?? Able to hide behind small objects?? That's the only reason i do it.. Not if their 10-15 meters in front of me though.. http://i.imgur.com/zoL1k.png
November 30, 200915 yr Basically what Shady says is the truth. Also sometimes when your just behind the crest of a hill and your not sure where the fire is coming from, you might be able to hide behind the crest. http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
November 30, 200915 yr you'll never get rid of it either from Bf2 vanilla or PR. Especially now that the SAW is such a spam cannon http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z174/ironchefspook/spook_BF2_PR_1.png

November 30, 200915 yr Unfortunately it still works to a degree in the current version. 0.9 completely eliminates any usefulness it provides as far as I heard from a DEV blog. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
November 30, 200915 yr Built into the psych of most of the twitch style gamers.. Fortunately you don't see too much bunny hopping these days... This is the case with many people I think. I love prone divers, easy kills for me BTW when Ice says "prone divers" he means players who insta prone and spray like madmen when they come into a point blank close quarter encounter. Of course there are many legitimate good reasons to prone in game. Edited November 30, 200915 yr by mrchickenfool

November 30, 200915 yr After being pronedived and headshotted within a second twice tonight, I think I will start again.
November 30, 200915 yr Author Basically what Shady says is the truth. Also sometimes when your just behind the crest of a hill and your not sure where the fire is coming from, you might be able to hide behind the crest. Failure to read. I said its still viable in open areas and long ranges. What I said is there is no point doing it in CQB and urban areas (such as around corners). Sunset city is great example, I racked up kills on there the other day because enemies would come crashing into a prone around the corner, and I would be moving in crouch, when we started trading rounds, I had the deviation benefit. December 1, 200915 yr That's not prone diving... that's going prone.... http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/aux1_zpsab5224fd.png

December 1, 200915 yr So what if they do it? Get over it, they are disadvantaging themselves, no need to bitch about it. http://www.bigd.com.au/_bigdfiles/sigs/mh-sig-2016-11.png
December 1, 200915 yr Author So what if they do it? Get over it, they are disadvantaging themselves, no need to bitch about it. Well jeez, taking it personal a bit much? I just felt some people may have not known about the changes and wanted to notify them? That so bad? http://users.on.net/hindes/bigdy/valour.gifhttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5224/operationcrownribbon02py7.jpg yeaaa booooy.

Dead chinese. I think i know the round you mean. We had a whole squad with NOONE with a ping below 200. Their medic wouldn't heal you, they AR would teamkill you. Bunch of tards :glare: DON'T YOU CLUCK WITH ME, BUDDY! ---------------------- After that night I started peeing out the window to avoid going down the hallway when it was dark.

December 1, 200915 yr Smaller target?? Able to hide behind small objects?? That's the only reason i do it.. Not if their 10-15 meters in front of me though.. This. Actually having said, that I usually fire from one knee so as I can maneuver myself... But anyway, speaking for myself, if I go prone there's a good reason for it. Basically what Shady said. December 1, 200915 yr Old habits die hard for some ... One knee crouch or roaming crouched is my habit in engagement http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm120/Albatross-water/AlbatrossSig3.png
December 1, 200915 yr With PR's deviation it doesn't matter if you insta-prone or not, unless you point your gun at your enemy for 3 seconds you wont hit anything without luck, proning just means the opponent will need even more luck http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h72/mott_photos/bigdcopy.jpg
December 1, 200915 yr i got prone drived form someone about 100 mrts away with an auto rifemens kit last night ....
December 1, 200915 yr See at 100 meters it doesn't count as prone diving. It counts as minimising yourself as a target. http://i.imgur.com/zoL1k.png
December 1, 200915 yr Author i got prone drived form someone about 100 mrts away with an auto rifemens kit last night .... Auto riflemans kit is the only kit that isn't heavily affected by deviation. That thing is a killing machine. http://users.on.net/hindes/bigdy/valour.gifhttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5224/operationcrownribbon02py7.jpg yeaaa booooy.
December 1, 200915 yr i think alot of prone diving in cqc/city areas is they are going around the corner into prone to get ready for a defensive position. not expecting you to allready be there but yeah guess theres some people that just do it as a bad habit. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
December 1, 200915 yr Whenever im in close combat i just spray and prey until i can find cover. If i come around a corner and someone is already set or in prone i retreat because it's highly unlikely that i will win the fire fight. A valuable lesson I learnt from the red baron "Only enter combat situations when you know you've got the upper hand and retreat when you don't". Though in PR, which isn't real, I do get a bit cocky sometimes and 90% I get put in my place.
