Nice Rig mate, im personally not an AMD fan but eh, its the old HOLDEN / FORD thing i guess. both are great companies.

if i had the cash i'd be going i7 over i5 and AMD but what you have there is a mad Rig so you will be fine ! good luck with you purchase !

i7 way too expensive and I've read reviews where they perform almost the same as AMD at high settings and resolution, but big difference at low resolution and low settings. All depends on the GFX card.

Interesting I like that comp a lot I didn't realise the ATI Radeon HD5850 were so cheap I might look in to one for my next upgrade in the future some time the only thing I would be worried about is the PSU you sure it can handle it I've got a 650w coolermaster as well and I only have 20w's to spare and thats with a AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz and a Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 4890.

The 5850 has a low power consumption, so it should be fine:

How so all he needs to do really to make it really good is upgrade the processor and it's topnotch.

He has a point, you could make a computer better than that if you wanted. That is a hot machine tho and will cut the grass on most of the games you play but its not a super machine.

Its all relative to the money I mean if you really wanted you could put the highest i7 core in there and put 2x GTX 295's in SLI. The other thing that would make the biggest difference and after purchasing one for my PC I would say that the build listed above needs it is an SSD.

And for that you spend 3 times the money and don't even get twice the performance.

But what you have is a good machine and you will have plenty of fun on it. Make the most of it and buy some games that will challenge it.

Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.
i cant Challenge my PC with games atm.... !!!! im so happy to be able to say that considering my previous pc was a pIII 433 !!! i built her myself.

Nope. You gota factor in the power supply.

The whole power consumption is under 500W for Crossfire and that's with the crazy Intel Core i7 975 Quad Processor. I don't see why I would need any more wattage.
