I was going to post this in the 1.5/0.874 issues thread but didn't want it to get buried in there.

 

It seems EA have found a fix for the Alt-Tabing problem, tested it out and it works.

 

It also fixes texture rendering problems some are having.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Download the attached file
  • Extract it into your Battlefield 2 install directory (you must have v1.50 installed already)
  • When prompted accept that you want to over write the existing file
  • In My Documents go to Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 and delete the cache directory
  • Run BF2 as normal

Hopefully this can solve alot of issues for us, and help stop those accidental hackers. :)

    I wouldn't assume that DICE went out of their way... I suggest an employee whom takes pride in his work did some investigation without managment prompting and then had to fight tooth and nail for it to be recognised and released....

    My BF2 1.5 allows me to ALT-TAB fine with nothing changed....

     

    XP Pro 32bit

    Installed BF2

    Installed EA 1.41

    Installed PR Core 0.860

    Installed PR Maps 0.860

    Installed EA 1.5

    Installed PR 0.87 Patch

     

    I just load up BF2 & I can alt tab in the menu, ingame & even in the loading screen without any issues.

    Ah crap. You're such a buzz kill Ancient. Any ETA on the hotfix coming out? Shouldn't take long since it is such a tiny thing.

     

    Can someone who was smart enough to back the file up please post a link up here so I can put the old one back on, pretty please?

     

    Will this affect other mods too, like FH2? Or even vanilla (not that I would be playing vanilla, ever :p)?
