Feel free to provide us improvements in a new thread but keep the chit chat to a minimum and post constructively please.

Since the other thread was locked, and this was posted, I felt it may be prudent to start aforementioned thread and add bits and pieces as we, the playerbase (as opposed to the unknown admin discussion), think of them. If we double up on anything, can the admins please let us know what direction they are taking in their thread in the admin area.

After playing on Server 2 last night, and seeing the new messages, I was hopeful that a strict ruleset, like previously proposed by Stabby, could and would work, without a locked server.

Suggestions I would like to make are (besides the glaringly obvious):

  • Keeping Locked Squads to a Minimum - Last night I joined Al Basrah to find only 5 Locked Squads, 1 of them with 6 players, 1 with 1 and 2 with 2. I ended up calling my squad 'Unlocked' and it filled instantly, this was at -1hr.

  • No Global except for players to enforce rules - definitely No Trash talk - stricter than current setup (Server 1 can have free global?)

Grey Area Suggestions:

  • No Bunnyhopping (so so on this one)

  • No Teabagging (instant kick on this one - if it needs to be done, go to Server 1)

  • Suggesting Mumble as a Server Message

Got any suggestions? Basically and personally, I would like to see Server 1 freed up as a more relaxed Server, and Server 2 buttoned down but without going crazy like overseas servers.

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

No bunny hopping is pretty stupid...Every person I've seen bunny hop dies sooner than later. It's their own fault if they decide to commit suicide by bunnyhopping.
add - No sitting in an APC for 10 minutes because your waiting for the other crewman to get back to main..

SOP you're on the right track here imo... but lets not discuss each suggestion.. else we'll get bogged down again..... just do a braindump of all ideas would be my suggestion.... we can all nut out the merit of each idea later.

Save your breath. You'll need it to blow up your date.

Can we make an exception for AA vehicles? The devs didn't even code them for single crewing anyway...

Yeah but if you single crew them the enemy can often get you "with your pants down" as it still takes ages to switch to the gunners seat and get the weapons on line leaving you just as vulnerable as you were in a tank back in 0.85 where we still didn't allow single crewing of assets.

BEST IDEA EVER.

Instant perma-ban.

Stupid rule, the first jump kills your sprint so it's just a headache not needed.

As for teabagging, if you have an issue with it you might be a sore loser and besides you can't see them do it anyway.

The rule I would like to see is no 2 man locked squads or less. You would be better off grouped up in an attack helicopter with the other choppers.

A full squad might need the L337 sniper kit for a good reason other than some ass off in the woods being useless.

I see no reason to have a locked squad for any less that 3 or 4 people.

Global chat, I see no issue with it at all. I have no idea why anyone would have a problem with it either other than endless spam but a bit of banter never hurt anyone.

Besides, we are a community and a lot of us get along well.

All these strict rules are getting out of hand, who the hell wants to play under a jackboot heel other than a few people that would love to rule with an iron fist.

The only strict rules that I would like to see enforced are blatant asset wasting. Not moving towards or making any attempt to take or defend objectives and locked squads.

You know, the core stuff that actually ruins a round all the other stuff is just nit picky.

That is true, I haven't found myself in described position yet but I'm sure it has happened to a many.

Can I nitpick?

Teabagging is in a poor spirit of the game. It's a vanilla behaviour that is moronic. But if you looked, I put it in the grey area to indicate a suggestion that is out there, but not important. Just like the Mumble server message. I hardly think mentioning teabagging makes anyone a sore loser? Are you a big fan of it? Does it make you feel special when you do it? Does it inflate your self-esteem? No, then why do it?

Global Chat - I threw it in as more of a realism thing ie. you don't chat to the enemy. Plus, I've seen more gloating these days than I care to remember. I'd say a better option is to warn for gloating or baiting, another behaviour that isn't sportsmanlike.

Locked Squads - almost not needed at all. Share the love.

In theory maybe,...

If that's true then why did I have an insurgent carrying an RPG bunny hop his way across my monitor last week?

He must've jumped 10 times and I could not hit him...even with a brit scoped rifle. Was he hacking?

Then to top things off no-one could've cared less when I complained...so I raged...unlike me actually.

I don't think it's such a stupid idea for that reason....

Maybe you can't shoot for ****, bad hit rego or the awesome deviation are all reasons why you may have missed.

With all the rules admin would have to enforce in theory admin will be able to play PR.

If all the admin are bored with being the server mommy we won't have regular admin at all.

As this is a military game I'll use a military term that fits. KISS, Keep It Stupid Simple.......

Exactly my point of view & I have infact given warnings to players for teabagging - because frankly if they want to be that immature they can go back to vBF2 for all I care. Whats surprising is several people that have done it have been regular forum members...

I teabag (not lately they can't see me teabag anyway so it's not as fun) and I've been teabagged. It's funny especially when someone stabs me when I've been prone, I deserve the coming teabagging.

The spirit of the game is to beat the other player, it's competitive and teabagging is competitive behavior. While it is childish if you blow a fuse over it I have no idea how you could get by in life. Seriously, who cares if someone gives you a little dig. Isn't it being a bit unAustralian to have such sensitive feelings? Here I was thinking we where living in a country where men are still men and not walking around with handbags and makeup on.

As for maturity, we are all sitting at home yelling at eachother while we make a little cartoon soldier run around blowing stuff up. Really, take a look at our activity. It's a pastime we take up for pleasure and to blow off steam, I don't remember it being all about maturity and responsibility. I get enough of that at work.

Problem is mate you have to draw a line somewhere, thats where we as a community have become lazy and let that line drop to new lows. But hopefully with the rules better enforced on this server now, we should see that the gameplay & teamwork picks up.

Draw the line at calling people stupid Cbombs and general abuse not at a silly activity that the person getting teabagged can't see to begin with. Much ado over nothing.......

A lot of great people are gone that just wanted to have fun and now we are left with a bunch of iron fist whiners who want to make it even worse.

They decay started when the rad and fun people quit PR because for them it was no longer a fun activity.

Also, those gone need to be replaced and having a potential player put off by so many rules restricting game play is a step backwards.

I would just like to see simple rules that help inhibit round destroying garbage. Stuff like camping in a corner and team asset wasting is fine with me to be monitored.

Wounded screen mate - you can see alot from there. Anyway steering this topic back on its rails talking about Server 2.

We are talking about server 2.

Awesome they can see my balls.

Okay, lets find a core complaint and work it out.

The one that seems to come up over and over is asset wasting. That is simple sorta, don't do it. Don't ditch APC's etc, if your roll a chopper twice in a row kick. People will get the message to practice or move along.

No single or 2 man locked squads. They just take up space and leave a bunch of people in limbo hoping to get into a squad.

No avoiding objective. They are laid out in the loading screen. Either defend or attack the flags or whatever. If you are off in useless land for 20 minutes warn give them 5 minutes to make obvious progress then kick the SL.

I think those are the big three that come up over and over an over. Plus it's just 3 simple rules for admin to have to deal with other than the no uncap rape or intentional tk's which really go almost without saying.

When you kill a dude then do squats over his face in an attempt to represent dropping your testicles across the bridge of the victims nose so each nut sits in their E-eye socket.

Edit///

And it makes me feel like a big man when I do it.

There you go SOP ol' buddy.

Noob question. Whats Teabagging?

Its when someone sits on your body and squats and stands repeatedly...

Well its something that doesn't really fit in with the whole "Teamwork and MATURITY " thing imo.

Not really looking at it as a bannable thing.

But its still unnecessary.

And Smokey..Thank you for the graphic explanation there....

No one wants to be banned for teabagging. But I would think one kick to an offender spotted on an admin's team would be the end of that.

But yeah, way down on the list of priorities. It's a stupid behaviour but hey, it goes hand in hand with the internets.

Smoke should of amended: "and it makes me feel like a big man when I do it" ;)
