Posted July 25, 200915 yr I've got a Linksys WAG54G V3 wireless modem router that I've always believed to be secure but we got a new laptop the other week and my missus says she didn't have to inout a password to connect to the network. In my wireless config under wireless security it has security mode: Disable WPA Pre-shared key WPA RADIUS WEP If I select the first and input a password the laptop doesn't work. I can put the password in when I put connect via the lappy but the internet doesn't actually work afterwards. What am I doing wrong? Am I meant to select one of the others? Here is a list of particularly awesome things: dogs sniping very spicy chilli cat claws on people (but still cool on cats)
July 25, 200915 yr you want WPA PSK or TKIP or WPA2 if you have it available on all your nodes. Also a handy hint is to disable SSID broadcast, which is your actual network name, so adds another layer of security right there for you. http://users.on.net/~mperrin/images/les_mis_kindros.png You're all wrong, and I am always right, and the sooner you accept it, the happier you will be. That is all! Va Fan Culo
