This is the age old question i suppose, im gona get a new PC with my tax returnand have started looking at the fine print (sys build details) and have come across some forum talk that DirectX 11 will be out in late 09 or early 10.

Early last month AMD publicly demonstrated the world’s first Microsoft DirectX® 11 graphics processor, and there's some forum talk that Vista service pack 2 will include DirectX 11...so im thinking maybe i should hold off for a while?

Whats the consensus view here? considering that the current generation of vid cards wont be forward compatible....am i worrying about nothing?

Upgrade now and then when DX11 comes out get a new video card.

I just did a major upgrade and with a midlife upgrade of just the GPU I'll get another year out of her.

Haven't even used DX10 yet!

I must be missing on all the amazing possibilities with the new Microsoft DirectX 10 libraries. Experience games like never before with MS DX10, yeah!

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

I still have XP :( no directx 10 for me

Why wont current Vid Cards like ATI HD4870 run Dx11 isnt it just a software upgrade?
