the piper was doing touch and gos and on the last touch and go they pulled up and banked left whilst about 5ft off the ground then went back right then back left and the wingtip hit the ground which put them into a tumble flipping the aircraft over a full 360 and also doing a 360 spin tearing off both wings and damaging almost everything from what I could see...after the crash all the guys from north shore helicopters rushed over both, pilots were able to get out of the wreckage and walk away, everyone at north shore aero club didn't budge and just continued doing what they were which I found rather useless. one ambulance and two firetrucks were called to the scene. looks like northshore will be getting a new multi-engine aircraft finally!

An even better landing is one where you can use the aircraft again afterward!

i remembed when i was learning aeronautics at HS, we heard about a student who had an engine out forced landing right near Jandakot. Was doing circuits solo and pretty much only just made it down but if you see where he landed, with only slight damage to one wing tip (caused by an over excited tree rushing out to see what was happening) you'd be amazed. The instructors at RACWA said that it would've been a tough landing to make for an experienced pilot let alone a student.

link to map of the rough area, he landed on the yellow dirt track just north of the train line, zoom out and you'll see how close to Jandakot he was but being only 1000ft up you dont have many options when you have an engine out.

As soon as I saw it bank left for the 2nd time it felt like everything went slow motion and I couldn't believe what was happening right before my eyes.
