anyone still play 2142 i play it on accusations but only titan maps there just freaking sweet i love the tactic of jetting up to the top of titan air ducts and rocketing all the attack planes/choppers that fly out hehe love that game does BIGD expand into that area???

yeah have it an NS, haven't loaded either onto my PC since my last rebuild. Get the occasional urge to play but then remember its not loaded and cant be stuffed doing it again.

Bought it had to upgrade my video card to play it then played it twice never again

i loved it, better than vanilla only reason i played it 2

I played for KorBK in the GA ladder...I enjoyed the game, had some good times with clan mates. Stealth + dropping a claymore in the middle of a group of enemies = chuckles. Jihad car was also fun times.

yeah its amazing, last few times i played, you pretty much had 'sniper elites' everywhere, no squads, no capping silos and man it was a pita! still gonna install it now, too buggered to play games so mayas well install it for that time i feel the urge to go nuts (o:

I was going to guess Combat on the 2600, but when quoting this post, it's right there in the screenshot.

 

At least I got it right. Loved that game.

 

 

P.S. Never bought 2142, promised never to buy anything after BF2 from EA after they patched it so poorly and released it in its beta state. I'm assuming, judging by the numbers at release, many others didn't also. They were still waiting for BF2 to be patched properly. Speaking of the patch...

I played 2142 for almost a year after I bought BF2 back in 2007. It's generally just a better game, no prone-diving etc. Still medic spam but not as bad, for example, you can't insta-heal people rather the ammo/medic box you throw down heals them over time.

yeah when i first played i found that annoying, BUT if you play as a team, you can place either at strategic points for your team mates to go rearm or heal. Perfec for Titan defence imo

yeah the titan gamemode was actually a great concept and quite fun to play. i played it and pr years ago until the aus pr community took off. Even though you dont get the real war feeling as its sci-fi based, in what other games do you get to board a flying enemy spaceship (with working guns)?

Battlefield 2142 took BF2 and expanded its ideas. People reckon its just a mod for bf2. The only basis for this accusation seems to be that thats because it uses the same engine. So what? It was a really good game that took BF2 and expanded on its ideas and improved it. While also adding in some very exciting features, most prominently the Titan modes. Escaping from an exploding Titan was a feeling I never got from BF2, it was just plain epic. A very good game to put alongside BF2, and I always thought many of its criticisms were misplaced. I think the people that criticised 2142 so harshly are responsible for the REAL abominations of the series, IE Heroes and 1943. Bad Company isn't so bad.

i agree a bit Tempest, most of those that poo poo'd 2142 for its 'pew pew' nature seem to forget that its suppose to be a future based FPS. while it had its drawbacks it also had its pluses. still love it (o:
