Posted June 19, 200915 yr Okay, so Netplus is messing me around, they don't mean too I'm just impatient. So here is the issue, I can get everything in one shot from MSY but the 4890 is from Powercolor and the 6gig 1600mhz ram is from G.Skill. I have never heard of these companies. It's actually saving me a bit of money but as I have no idea who they are I do not know if the $50 I'm saving is worth having unreliable crap. Pls help!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. June 19, 200915 yr G.Skill has a decent reputation (in line with Kingston), Powercolor is a little so-so but plenty of people have the cards and they are fine. Google the particular model numbers and see if you get many hits. Mate, as long as the warranties are the same, and you are saying money then it should be fine. Check the timings on the RAM though, not that it makes a huge amount of difference. http://imgur.com/e5y6e.gif You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. June 19, 200915 yr Author 8-8-8-21 I don't really understand that but it seems standard across other RAM I've looked at. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. June 19, 200915 yr 1600mhz excessive much? http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. It tells you not to play the second worst PR map [burning Sands] (first is Wanda Shan). QFT: if you dont get pissed off when you lose you dont care enough
June 19, 200915 yr Warranty the same? Timings similar to your Corsair? Generic RAM is fine in most, if not all, cases. http://imgur.com/e5y6e.gif You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. June 19, 200915 yr Yeah I always just grab kingston and it has served me very well over the years (I've had 5 different sets through the various upgrades) http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. June 19, 200915 yr Graphic card brands differ only in their warranty terms (i think), software bundle and heat sinks/fans. The card is made by ATI/Nvidia regardless of brand so if anything's going to fail you, it'll be the HSF. And as said above, it's quite alright to use 'generic' ram. I use Gskill myself. http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/merc.bmp On the topic of shiny auscam... the sound they made while bush walking made it seem like I was doing mean things to little furry animals inside my pants

June 19, 200915 yr Well unless you're planning to overclock, 1600mhz is overkill. Even with overclocking, I've got 1333mhz in my rig and I can still hit 4ghz on the i7 920. You should be happy with your list btw. You could be even happier by getting something other than a 4890 - they run too hot for my liking. http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/merc.bmp On the topic of shiny auscam... the sound they made while bush walking made it seem like I was doing mean things to little furry animals inside my pants
June 19, 200915 yr Author I'm going to overclock, why not!! I think I'm going to do a small case mod though and add another fan where my top vents are. I think I'll also seal up the side vent holes. Basically 1 intake and 2 out fans not including the psu and gpu fans. One exhaust out the back and one up top. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. June 19, 200915 yr Why is 1600mhz excessive? 6gig only 152 bucks! It's a bit excessive because you're unlike to every use anything near 6 GB of RAM and because you can buy RAM which is a bit cheaper. I'd be looking in the 2-4GB range personally. Here's the stock listing of "A Grade DDR3 Memory" from the MSY website (Source: http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf). 2GB DDR3 1333 Kingston $49 4GB Kit(2x2G) DDR3 1333 TEAM-O5-TD3-1333-4GBK $92 4G Kit(2x2G) DDR3 1333 G.Skill NQ / PI $88/$92 6G Kit (3x2G) DDR3 1333 Kingston / G.Skill-NQ $126/$126 6G Kit(3x2G) DDR3 1600 G.Skill-NQ / G.Skill-PI $142/$152 nedlands1 [WC] Specialist (Combat Engineer) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/52/US_Army_E-4_SPC.svg/50px-US_Army_E-4_SPC.svg.png [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
June 19, 200915 yr G.skill is a premium overclocking brand for ram. Its very very good as a brand. Powercolour is one of the largest card manafacturers around. Ive owned products from both and do recommend. Prices sound pretty good too. :hi:

June 19, 200915 yr I have G.Skill RAM and I have absolutely no issues with it. I am not all that familiar with Powercolor but if others say its ok than I would thinks its a reasonable brand to buy. 2 GB is far too little for a machine these days, especially with buying a new one. I am running 6GB, went up from 2GB, I was lagging a bit on Ramiel and since adding the RAM all my problems have been solved. 4GB would definitely do it but I am sure you will get some games and applications that will chew that up, you will probably find 6GB is almost more value for money. I am running Win 7 and not really doing anything but browsing and I am using 1.4GB's of RAM. http://www.clan-tea.com/sigs/flames/Poncho-Temp.png Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.

June 19, 200915 yr Err... Dangerous Scrim. I am not sure about i7 processor but generally do NOT EVER take a processor past 70. http://www.clan-tea.com/sigs/flames/Poncho-Temp.png Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.

June 19, 200915 yr I got G skill ram. seems fine. They give you these sweet little decals! http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/shuffle34.jpg “No point in mentioning these bats, I thought. Poor bastard will see them soon enough.” Raoul Duke.

June 19, 200915 yr i'm not up with the oc scene anymore, but in the screenie, a superpi run is listed. see if yours beats that. but, that probably isn't relevant now. http://imgur.com/e5y6e.gif You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. June 19, 200915 yr 1600mhz RAM isn't going to do you any good seeing as it's DDR3. According to your screenshot your board uses DDR2.. Also the best way to tell the brand is by looking at the actual chips, not by the sticker on top of the chips... Nice SuperPi score btw... my 7750 @3.1Ghz does 1 Million in about 24secs. EDIT: Never mind I got the screenshots mixed up....... Edited June 19, 200915 yr by seo iphone [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
