just a quick poll guy on whether we need more admin for JUST teamspeak and mumble.

 

im not talking about having more admin in-game as we have plenty of them just wanted more ts and mumble admins as there seems to be quiet a few retards lately who have been joining the channels just to spam them with there gangster music think there all so kool.

 

and its a bit hard for me to find an admin too when our 2hrs ahead of everyone here in NZ.

I think we should grant some more people Admin rights with the server. When people like this come in it does take a while to get admins to respond as they may be doing more important things.

The TS server logs the IP of anyone that joins the server. With your chat log time stamps the head admins should be able to IP ban this tard so that he can't come back AFAIK.

Because it's just an IP ban. You could IP ban me from anything and in 45 seconds I'll be back. That's the time it takes me to click my router login page, hit disconnect PPP, hit reconnect PPP and then join back into whatever I'm banned from. So yeah, unless you could MAC ban him, there's very little point. MAC bans are great until they start MAC address spoofing (Reading for those who don't know what a MAC address is).

 

That's why programs like BF2 use CD keys, GUIDs and PBIDs to enforce bans properly, however on a program like TS or mumble, sadly the functionality would be cost prohibitive to implement (not necessarily from the coder's perspective, but on a per user basis)

TS3 will be out in the future and its going to have generated ID's for persons so that once there banned they are banned. Probably won't take too long for people to hack TS but its going to be far harder to get around then IP's.

gsa are working on a little something to fix this issue,and THAT particular Lil fool is about to have some serious ISP problems.

It is just one person who has been doing it on all GSA T/S channels lately.

The GSA Admins have been in contact with his ISP and things WILL end badly for him in the near future.

we just need responsible poeple to take a defences position in TS and mumble. just so we can kick them the second they start crap. I'm getting really ticked of with these losers hoping on to piss us off because they get beat up at school so much. maybe being a little more open with TS admin rights to long time community members would help?

 

hell, I'd stick my hand up for that but I'd probably be given a full inspection before I can even look at kicking someone.

 

I'm not saying the people we have aren't doing their job. It's we don't have enough to cover it most of the time.

But since I don't use the TS, I'm unable to vote. I'd vote Yes if it makes the whole experience of using the TS/Mumble better.
