Posted May 28, 200915 yr The old map where the USA start in the desert with 2 humvees and i think 2 apcs and they go to take a little oasis pond , advance to a western base and take it (heavily fortified i guess ) then, move to the middle of the map and destroy a WALL. Drive through a ravine with cliffs on both sides which are walk on able lol. Then into a big open desert sorta area.... and their last base has a massive crane too! here is a map i decided to draw, sorry if u cant work out whats what. KEY: Red is Unpassable Black circle is base gray mountains is little hills umm and the blue stuff is the gate and cliff walls. oh yeah and its a U not a V on USA LOL http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g68/Chaos_mage5/Untitled.jpg getting mad for peoples amusement
May 28, 200915 yr It was called Fallujah (IIRC) and then later it was renamed Desert storm. Then it was removed because it was... well... crap. What about it?

May 28, 200915 yr Behind the walls was several large cities but no-one ever got passed those walls. I liked the map. Remember the one with the big lake in the middle?
May 28, 200915 yr Oh god I didn't like that map. Remember Hill's of Hamyong? God that was the most horrible. What I do miss is Mao valley. With its non-flat littlebird landing pad and its grass everywhere. Ahh memories. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ee/US_Army_E-2.svg/50px-US_Army_E-2.svg.png http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/4927/awardslf0.png

May 29, 200915 yr It was always fun charging up that hill and dodging the MG and n00b tube fire Aresnik [WC] Leiutenant Braaaaaaaarp!
May 29, 200915 yr But hiding behind the wall unable to move without being shot in the head wasn't so much fun..,then there was plan B-where everyone would throw smoke and try and make it to cover hoping that some of us would make it. It was still fun though http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
May 29, 200915 yr Yeah for some reason I loved the fact that you had to stay down or die, and there was always some poor sucker next to me that would poke his head up and get shot in the face...it was very traumatic....took me along time to recover... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
May 29, 200915 yr that and there were only about two places where rallies could go http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/aux1_zpsab5224fd.png

May 29, 200915 yr ure all just nubs. it WAS a good map, back in the day . but as pr advanced they ruined it somehow.
May 29, 200915 yr lol @ your map drawing hahah Good Conduct http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/goodconduct.bmp
May 29, 200915 yr Yeah the old maps did have value at the time they were way different thats for sure, really suited the smaller player base of the time as well Great memories http://matt.itsthemadhouse.com/na/sigs/na-sig-gruanch5.png http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/bulletmagnet.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/gren.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/ocrs.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/opagamaserv.jpg
May 29, 200915 yr yeah its just when all these douches showed up they ruined the gameplay by bringing their cs tactics
May 29, 200915 yr i think that Hills Of Hamyong could be truely epic nowadays with the new deviation lol. i can see some very hollywood moments happening http://i.imgur.com/TLiDl.png
May 29, 200915 yr Hills of Hamyong . One of the best maps that brought out the tactic of leaping from smoke cluster to smoke cluster. Wont say i always enjoyed the map but it brought out the best tactics for smoke use http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm120/Albatross-water/AlbatrossSig3.png
May 29, 200915 yr I fail to see how http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g68/Chaos_mage5/Untitled.jpg looks anything like this: http://realitymodfiles.com/ancient/prsp/al_fallujah_region.png Anyway, it was far to small and concentrated to work well in later PR versions, hence why it was removed. I mean, there was only one way to advance, through a tiny entrance at the Canyon... Think how that would turn out with 32v32 with scoped weapons and scoped SAW weapons and stuff... It's the same with basically every other map removed, they just don't work with the gameplay of later versions... http://www.ancientdev.com/images/devsig.png
May 29, 200915 yr The best thing about that map was that it was the site of "THE RETARDING!" For those that are too new to remember that was just after the insurgents were put on the map and the +tickets to insurgency team penalty for killing civilians was introduced. However about 99% of the playerbase at the time didn't seem to realise or care about the new penalty and by the end of the game we (insurgents) were still holding the wall but we ended up with about 300-400 more tickets than we started the round with due to the sheer amount of civilians that were gunned down, with everyone on the server screaming and laughing over the chat about how retarded it was. Ahhhh, good memories. Edited May 29, 200915 yr by mrchickenfool
May 29, 200915 yr since we are talking about old maps, When is Al Basrah getting the once over [R-DEV]Rhino, made all those new bridges that would look sweet on that map. get to it mappers. but really the whole map could be remade more realistic http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/iraq/al-basrah-maps.htm http://www.maplandia.com/iraq/al-basrah/al-basrah-30-29-39-n-47-49-9-e/ http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff136/paulwar_photos/735c4e74-282e-49b6-99c3-6c443f8c759f.jpg MSI970A Gaming Pro Carbon - AMD FX-8350 - 12GBytes - GTX 750 Ti 2GBytes
May 29, 200915 yr However about 99% of the playerbase at the time didn't seem to realise or care about the [civillian] penalty kinda like now lol http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h72/mott_photos/bigdcopy.jpg
