Posted May 4, 200915 yr I just did a minor upgrade - 4GB Ram, new HDD and a 22" LCD monitor. I also got some sort of angry Trojan Horse, so I reformatted. Since the upgrade however, I've had some strange issues. Firstly, PR/BF2 looks effin weird in widescreen, in fact I'm not convinced it's working correctly, but anyway... The PR menu lags terribly - the mouse takes 20 seconds to register a click or a mouse-over. Also whenever I move the mouse, the video behind the menu screen freezes. In-game is fine, if a little large for my comfort A similar thing happens in Source Engine games - The menu is fine in L4D, but the background vid pauses when I move the mouse, and the game is Left4Lag when I move the mouse, despite the fact I have 100+ FPS. Any ideas? I'm spent. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
May 4, 200915 yr Mouse drivers ? http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
May 4, 200915 yr If your lagging out in the menu but not ingame, that's pretty fail. All the menu is is a simple (yet quite complex ) flash movie... I'd make sure all your drivers are up to date and there's nothing major running in the background like disk defragging or antivirus running. http://www.ancientdev.com/images/devsig.png
May 4, 200915 yr You seated the ram properly.?.. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
May 4, 200915 yr Author Yeah. I think Spybot may have been covertly ninja'ing my system resources, while I was off making a cup of tea or something, causeing the L4D lag. Testing BF2 now... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
May 4, 200915 yr I'm getting the same sort of thing, I just recently installed a new HD and did a fresh re-install of PR and I'm getting about a 1-2 second delay when mousing over the menu options. Other than that everything else runs fine. Aresnik [WC] Leiutenant Braaaaaaaarp!
May 4, 200915 yr Yep, same lag for me, ALT-TAB into BF2 and it can take up to 5 or 6 seconds to get mouse control. Never used to do that. http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/armouredservice.bmp
May 4, 200915 yr try deleting cache. i deleted the background movie and loading movies so no lag for me! Edited May 4, 200915 yr by crawfs http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/Chanvlan/new_kit.jpg yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't. Its exactly like knowing about the stuff you dont know about, that way you know theres stuff you dont know so when you know what you dont know you can say "ah i knew that!"[/quote']
May 4, 200915 yr I get this stuff in Far Cry 2 but I doubt its related. In FC2, the fix was to change the values in the config file for "mouse menu smoothing". Turning it down to Dx9 also helped but obviously BF2's only available in Dx9 so...yeah http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/merc.bmp On the topic of shiny auscam... the sound they made while bush walking made it seem like I was doing mean things to little furry animals inside my pants
