Posted May 3, 200915 yr Well I stumbled across this: http://csnation.totalgamingnetwork.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179563 The long-awaited mystery title from Tripwire Interactive, developers of Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, has finally been revealed. Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad will be the Unreal Engine 3 powered title coming from the team. This news was apparently not supposed to be revealed just yet, but the UK and US editions of PC Gamer let the news slip a bit early. An article can be found about the new game in the newest issue of the magazine. I know many of you have been waiting a very long time for this news, and I am very happy that we can finally confirm what we've been working on these past three years. RO:HOS (as we call it) is real, its using UE3, and its awesome Just bear with us while we recover from this unexpected announcement and in the immortal words of Battlestar Galactica - all will be revealed. For now, we're not going to say anything else about the game. We'll let the article speak for itself. Tripwire themselves have not yet revealed much in the way of information and may not reveal much more until after the release of Killing Floor. Tripwire has added a new section to their forums for Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad. Once more news is revealed and known, we'll be sure and have it ready for you to read here. Well a fresh Red Orchestra would be fantastic. I got into the game very late and had to deal with outdated graphics and movement the whole time which drained me a bit. Hopefully it goes well on the Unreal Engine 3 and lives up to the current games gameplay. Compuntiny Member.
May 3, 200915 yr Well, interesting. RO struggles for numbers because they chose something to base their game on which isn't entirely mainstream. Kudos for them to just hanging on to that. The modern-day niche just refuses to be filled for a tactical/arcadey shooter (besides some exceptions). PR on the U3 engine with detailed ballistics, penetration, large maps and vehicles would be a nice dream. I would pay good money for it. Edit: I would of paid money to have someone mod RO as a modern day shooter. If they fixed penetration.
