Player Idle Bug

Heya, I was just manning one of the new MEC AA vehicles on Kashan. I was the Gunner, so I spent about 10 mins in the seat, fired a rounds, constantly swiveling etc. But I still got booted for being idle.

Is that a bug? It sucked for my squad members im sure hehe.

Were you stationary? I believe the game counts 'idle' as no z/x/y movement for the player between counts. So if you're in something like that, remember to move even 2m forwards every 5-6 minutes to make sure you stay in the game.

I believe it's as Psyrus said. I've had this happen also. For a while after that I was very conscious of ensuring the vehicle moves every now and then but I've probably become complacent again.

I know for a fact that if you check the scoreboard (Tab) it stops you from being idle kicked, when I have to go AFK for a while and the server is not full, I sometimes stay in game and come back every few minutes and tap the tab button to stop from getting idle kicked. I assume the VOIP button would probably stop it too.

this has happened to me before, on a mounted MG. Not cool. all it takes i guess is to jump off/out every 5-10 mins......

yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't. Its exactly like knowing about the stuff you dont know about, that way you know theres stuff you dont know so when you know what you dont know you can say "ah i knew that!"[/quote']

AA, hull down, in an easily defensible position, overwatching South Village while the FrogFoot made repated bombing runs on targets in that area.

I should smack you in the mouth for suggesting I would single crew an asset :p
