Just logged on to have a round of Ghost Train - on the Brits side.

 

Whahey! There was only the single 'Farm' spawn point, as I had just made my own squad, I could only spawn there. Fair enough, someone had blown the other map set Rally Point. Perfectly understandable.

 

So, I spawned at Farm only to get shot in the back as I started off toward North Bridge. Spawned again, same thing happened. So I vented my frustration over the global chat. All our vehicles had been destroyed and they were also picking off our commander when he spawned. I spawned again, got shot a few times and knock out a camper; *snip*reported player*snip* perched just to the east of the farm with an excellent field of view of the general spawn area.

 

*snip* This community was, (and still is) based loosely on the notion of utilitarian spirit. What creates the greatest good for the greatest number? Your 'sabotage' actions certainly don't.

 

We play this game for fun, and although it is more fun if we're winning, we all have to work together to make sure that the game remains fun for EVERYONE*snip*

I heart Spawn camping threads!

 

We seriously need to lay down some rules with this. One's that the majority of the community can agree on.

 

It's kinda getting out of hand.

 

Admins please advise.

Here's what happened. I had just come off an extremely stressful round of Airport as Brits, which we won - something that doesn't happen often. So, for the next map, I made my Ninja squad for some nice, relaxing behind-enemy-lines subterfuge.

 

It consisted of myself, unco_tomato as a Rifleman and illusion.au as a medic. We proceeded up to Tunnel, destroyed the rally point there, and moved over to Farm to sabotage the vehicles there. Because of the outrage created by mining vehicles, we were just going to destroy them outright with SLAMs and leave.

 

I move in, take out a land rover, as unco_tomato comes up behind me. I saw someone spawned, and I say over VOIP: "Get down, do not engage!" I repeated this three times, after which unco_tomato then shot the person who spawned (I'm assuming this was you).

 

Now this completely goes against the community spirit and was in direct violation of my order. So I kick him from the squad and lock it. I tell him not to do it again over TeamSpeak.

 

After this, unco_tomato intentionally teamkills me with a grenade, and laughs. At this point, I quit the server in frustration.

 

There is nothing more that I can do about it. BigD has a No Intentional Teamkilling policy whatsoever, so I couldn't put a round in his head for insubordination. I can't do any more than to ask him to stop what he's doing.

 

I'm not responsible for his actions but I do apologise for them all the same, seeing as it was my squad that put him there in the first place. He went completely against my orders even after I'd warned him numerous times. Just so you know, I'm never taking him on another ninja operation again.

 

Any more, you're going to have to take it up with unco_tomato himself.

Hmm...thanks for the speedy reply. I too did a hasty rage quit after I'd got my revenge on him, which at that point, he had gotten himself 7 odd kills. Nonetheless, it's left a very bad taste in my mouth.

 

I didn't get any screenshots, so you'll have to take my word for it.

 

Cheers for airing your version of events, I reckon we've got them almost spot on.

I was witness to the events, sitting beside my mate freshmeat77. He joined game - spawns - instant kill. I was like wtf? Then we saw the poor commander go down, but I don't know if it was an actual spawncamp.

 

I agree with photoshop, and think that sabotage missions are legit, but it's the actual spawn camp that's the big no-no.

After looking at the logs from last night concerning this event, we are unable to obtain solid grounds to ban unco_tomato.

Given the allegations and the fact that his own clan mate has explained his actions, we will be keeping a very close eye on unco. Should he step out of line in the slightest, he will find himself on an enforced holiday from our servers.

 

The result of this complaint would be much different had their been screenshots to back it up.

 

I invite unco_tomato to come forward and air his side of the story.

 

I also urge players, please, -PLEASE- take screenshots when you see this sort of thing happening. It only takes a second to hit the Print Screen button, but it makes our jobs much easier. You will then give us the means to make a proper, informed dicision regarding incidents like this, and you will have the satisfaction of proving your point properly.

 

 

IN REGARDS TO SABOTAGE:

 

This is the BigD Admin ruling on the matter.

 

SABOTAGE/COVERT OPS IS AN ACCEPTABLE PLAYING STYLE.

 

HOWEVER:

 

Being in an ememies base is walking a very fine line.

 

If you must sabotage: get in, blow up the assets/vehicles/spawn point, etc, and get the hell out of there.

 

Hanging around, skulking, camping, etc will get you banned.

 

Shooting, knifing, shockpaddling, injuring people as they spawn or are in or leaving the flag area will get you banned.

 

It is better for all concerned if you stay away from enemy bases to protect yourself from the temptation of crossing the line and earning yourself a ban.

 

THIS DOES NOT APPLY IN THE INSTANCE THAT THE ENEMY BASE IS THE LAST REMAINING CAPPABLE FLAG

 

 

TEAM KILLING OF ANY KIND WILL GET YOU BANNED. NO EXCUSES.
