I know alot has been said about it. But I thought I would add some to it. Not havin a pc has set me back some, but after getn a new system an playn .8 a bit over the last couple of weeks I fineally got some time in.

 

the bullet dev is fine. Im totally down with it. its settled, more paced and i feel like being in a squad is so much tighter. the support deployed mode is premium.

 

Dunno, having been sitting on the bench since .8 release and viewed the carpet bombing of the mod and now playing it, i dont get the criticism.

 

dont think this thread will go far, reckon most people have accepted it now anyway. But im just +1 the change. I think theyre planning on reducing the dev cone some in the next release...

Hmmm well hate to beat a dead horse but I was on Muttrah last night with the US sniper kit and I took two shots at a MEC soldier that was about 200 metres away and missed both times.

Yet just a few minutes earlier I downed 3 mec inf. (1 shot per kill) at an enemy firebase that was 700m away using the same sniper rifle....

200 M's is a long way, and the sniper kit sucks :)

Yup 200 metres is a long way, but 700m is 3x further. So why can I hit something at 700m but not 200m?

Does the same rule still apply as in 0.7 where there is no bullet droop up to 900m?

 

btw I don't mind sniper but it's not my fav kit....

I was in that same mutrah round using the MEC sniper (single level zoom). I'm not fully up to scratch with the comparision ballistics between the MEC rifle and the USMC one, but i was'nt having a prob. I was hitting targets before the full set 8sec steady time at long ranges, also got a few targets on the move.

Maybe it was just U-Dawgs awesome sand bag placement skillz that did it for me...

I've never been a fan of the new deviation changes, in fact always been rather against them, but if one things for sure, the sniper is definatly a whole lot better and the last thing you want to complain about.

And I don't have a problem with the MEC Sniper or Chinese rifle either.

The fact that I only have trouble with the the US one occasionally, makes me think the ballistics are different for each one.

If someone knows and can tell me it would improve my hit rate....I can't find any info on the Wiki about it.

 

What range were the targets you were hitting? btw I don't think it was the same round - unless you were playing on a US TG server? Actually in saying that I guess it could have something to to with my ping time - maybe something that needs adjusting in my config. files....

Miss read ya post. Basically it comes down to randomisation, you will sometimes get some good killz, think you're a master. Then miss some real easy ones and hate you're self, the game, puppies and anyone else that gets in you're way...Thus why Randomsiation has no place in a realistic fps.

Yeah I totally agree with that...funny how sometimes me or anyone else can cause total pwnage in one round, then the next can't hit a thing lolz.. (ok well not that funny really...) With Chinese rifles it's like anything in my scopes is magnetized so my bullets are attracted to my target.. But with British rifles anything in my scopes is still magnetized - but the other way - so that the bullets veer away from my target hehe...:)

It's still crap in my eyes seems if you ignore it it seems to favour you, wait 1.5-2.5 seconds between shots and die while the enemy instaprone and nail you with a full autoburst spray at 150 meters?

 

Its RANDOM deviation and seems the more you think about it the more random your deviation becomes, if your shooting at the same stationary target 3-5 times surely you would hone in on it not get worse.

 

FAIL when you get 14-15 kills in game and 4 of 8 times that you die is from a situation where the deviation/timing should have work in your favour doesnt then I say FAIL

I don't know if this is along the same lines as bullet deviation or a problem with TCP packets, but often I can shoot someone 3 or 4 times at point blank and not hit them once, but then I get knifed by another guy who is 10 metres away??
