On the 6th of December this year there is a Milsim Op happening in Brisbane. Now Im from Melbourne as most of you know and was wondering if anybody is kean to fly up there with me? Im willing to split the fairs obviously etc. Players from BigD up there are AllYourBase and thats it...lol I THINK!

Segmentor lives here too, as does Chief Ryza but hes a lazy so and so, he doesnt come to MilSims hehe.

 

I've PM'd Sniper about this, but if anybody else comes up, and you guys stay near Coorparoo, I can pick you up from the airport and drive you to the event etc.

Good idea Sniper - especially so this early - you should get cheap flights if you book a long way in advance.

 

Pro tip: go to http://www.webjet.com.au to search for cheap fares then go to the airline's website directly to book them (to avoid the webjet booking fee) :-)

 

So the 6 Dec session is 24 hours? I may be too unprepared/too much of a pussy (as I'm sure AYB would allege) for that, but I'll figure that out in a month!

Smoove and I have discussed this topic PM wise and we have decided to try and focus this year on Victorias area so we are able to "spread the MILSIM down here".

Next year is looking pretty good though, and I will be putting money away from my birthday towards a trip up to Brissy .

 

In the mean time the Victorian players are training their arses off preparing for the ****e terraine up at Brissy:).

I would love to come and see what its all about but unfortunately I am getting on a plane to Victoria on Sunday morning so I won't be able to.

 

I would also like to know how it is legal when paint ball players are required to have licences for owning a marker. And the marker is not allowed to look anything like a real gun. How can you guys be allowed to have laser tag weapons that look like real guns? Just out of curiosity.

The taggers provided by (correct me here) Logan Laser Skirmish are a little bit boxy etc, they look like assault rifles, but like, assault rifles from the future hehe.

 

As for the other ones...what the public don't see, cant hurt em...

My (limited) understanding is that, in Queensland, paintball markers are classified as firearms because they shoot a projectile in a similar fashion to an air rifle, hence they have associated licensing and storage requirements.

 

Laser taggers do not fire a projectile therefore are not classified as firearms. Depending on appearance they may be classified as replicas, but if permanently inoperable (as defined under the Weapons Act) these don't require licensing in Queensland.

Not to go to far off topic, but this is what paintballers all wonder and try to use as there ammo to change the paintball laws.. But mainly its because of the use projectiles, and we are limited by law to 300fps.

 

And in December we will see the outcome of whats going to be happening to air soft in Australia.

 

No use talking about gun laws tho, there so bloody hard to change.. Best of just to use it / buy it while you still can!

Well you wont have to wait long Base, Queensland might be the 1st state to get it legalise, not sure to what extent, but ASA is looking to get some bill/law past in December. Hence why they have gone all quiet they want the least attention as possible to this so no one will wreck all thier efforts.
