October 14, 200816 yr use to ride my mtb into work, was a great ride an use to love passing the lycra brigade (think my personal best was 12 ppl on one ride). Distance was about 16kms, use to average 35kph sometimes toping out at 55kph (top recorded speed on it was 60kph, but that was going downhill and flogging the crap outa myself to do it). Have been looking at riding to my current place of work BUT the limiting factors are, its now a 35km one way, best route takes me down a highway where i'd have to ride in the emergency lane, seen some blokes do it but after nearly being clipped by a couple of trucks before (give you an idea, hold your handlebars, now rotate your hand on the right handle bar 90 degrees, your fingertips would be scrapping down the side of said truck - no bs), not game for that. Its a pitty tho as it would be a great ride, but not really the sort of ride suited to my dually. October 14, 200816 yr Author I bought all my parts separately and built it up myself which ends up being a bit more exe than if you were to buy a stock bike. Check out http://www.bikeexchange.com.au/ They have new and seconds for sale. A cheap SE lager SS is a nice one to start out on. Just depends if you have a lot of hills where you live. Melbourne's pretty flat so I don't need gears. http://pedalsplus.com.au/store/product_info.php?products_id=152&osCsid=68ac53f044af5ce4deee9fd8b7033037 Aresnik [WC] Leiutenant Braaaaaaaarp!
October 14, 200816 yr Looks like a good site that one. I ride this, nearly bought the next model up which is what i really wanted but took a tumble off my big shattering and dislocating my wrist so was out of action for a while. Had the cash to buy it but said i'd get it when i could ride again. The wife went cold on the idea the closer i got to getting better but i know the shop owner an he did me a deal on this bike so was pretty happy with it.
